  • Building Words Through Sensory Play!

    Funded Dec 15, 2017

Your donations to this project were greatly appreciated. My students were so excited when I started pulling out the bins and filling them with the items to feel and find. I also made some materials of my own to go along with the sensory bins. The alphabet sensory bin is used to identify uppercase and lowercase letters. The number sensory bin is being used to help identify their numbers. The shape sensory bin is used to shapes by color, by shape, and by size as well as matching the shapes. The snap together letters and lacing letters have really helped my students with learning their new sight words.”

  • Science Rocks!

    Funded Mar 23, 2017

Thank you so much for your donations in helping fund this project for my students. I wish you could have seen their faces when my students saw all the new materials coming into the classroom. They were so excited to get all these math and science hands-on materials. The flip chart about plants has helped a lot in labeling plant parts. We have even started planting our own garden. The parents were also excited that I was going to be sending home materials that the students could use to show them things they have learned in the classroom.”

  • Measuring Up for Success!

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

Thank you so much for your donation to this project. My students were so excited when I started pulling out the new hands-on measuring centers. They are having so much fun learning with the new materials that have come in. We pull them out everyday for centers. With help from the interactive pencils, measuring center, patterning center, and sorting center, the students are grasping their basic skills needed to be successful. Seeing the smiles on their faces as they practice these skills is amazing. We will continue to pull out these new materials so that we do not lose the skills that we have gained from using these.”

  • Number Sense

    Funded Dec 14, 2016

My students are loving the new math materials that have come into the classroom. They are grasping the basic concepts of a number line, thanks to the wipe clean number lines and the large number line activity chart. The Geo sticks were a huge hit with my students, as they love to use their imaginations to build different objects. The ones who have trouble coming up with ideas used the activity cards that came along with the geo sticks. It is such a nice feeling to know that people care and want to help out, so that children are learning the skills they need to learn in order to be successful. My students and I greatly appreciate your help in funding this project.”

  • Basketball Team Just Having A Ball

    Funded Feb 21, 2017

Thank you tremendously! We really appreciate all the donations from the donors. The kids are super excited and ready to show off their new items. This will have such an impact on our kids confidence, just to know that people care enough about them to help. Thank you again and let's play ball.”

  • Lots of Sounds!

    Funded Sep 2, 2016

    Dear Donors,

My students and I are using the new resources as whole group learning as well as small group and individual learning. I pulled out each new resource one at a time and went over how the resource was to be used. I then did some practice run through on how to use each one. The students would beg me everyday to let them use the new resources.

When I first received the materials, my students were very curious what was inside the box. As I started pulling out each one, the students faces lite up with excitement because they knew that these were new materials that were going to help them learn. When it was time to dive in and begin using the new materials, I couldn't get them out fast enough.

This project was one of many that I will continue to use throughout my teaching career. I will be posting new projects as my current ones are fulfilled. I love seeing the excitement that my students have when there are new materials brought in for them as another means of learning the concepts that they need in order for being successful.”

My students come to our school because they live in the immediate neighborhood. Many of them walk or take the bus to get to school every day. Most of them come from a low income family with only one parent who is struggling to hold the family together. They suffer from low academics and many suffer from ADHD. They come to learn but some days it is a struggle to keep them on task. I have to make sure that we are always on the move and we have a lot of hands on activities and movements planned for the day.
