Coming Together One Kidney (Table) at a Time
Funded Aug 30, 2017Thank you so much for getting my project funded so quickly! The support is much appreciated. The tables will really assist myself and my partner teacher with our guided reading block. But most importantly the two kidney tables will enhance the learning of all dual language kindergarten babies. Thank you once more for your dedication in bettering the learning of my students.”

Coming together in a Bilingual Space
Funded Aug 18, 2017Thank you so much for helping my students and I. This carpet will allow us a great area to gather for various things such as morning meeting and whole group lessons. Due to your kindness my students will be able to benefit from a lovely, new, clean rug, that will not only fit all of them but is bilingual. Once again thank you!”

A Seat Sack Start to Creating Avid Readers
Funded Sep 10, 2016When I received the donorschoose box with the seat sacks I notified my students that I had a surprise for them. It was the beginning of the year, and I received my materials quickly. When my students saw the seat sacks, they were brimming with excitement. They were very eager to open them and put them on their seats. They were happy that now they had a space to put their reading books and not have to stuff them in a desk or Ziploc bag saving them space.
Students have been using their seat sacks as an extension of their desk. Often times they find that they become a little disorganized and it helps them find things fairly quickly. In addition, it allows them the space they desire to hold multiple reading books. I remember a student who was bored with his own books, he turned around and asked a fellow classmate for a book. His classmate turned around picked a book that he enjoyed from his sack and proceeded to tell him what he liked about the book. This moment might be small, but I feel that seat sack's existence helped facilitate that.
Now next steps for my students is to continue their reading endurance. That means continuing to read but reading for longer periods. In addition, we have been writing letters to our pen pals in Georgia. Students will continue to use what they learn in English to maintain a correspondence with their pen pals. Thank you so much for your donation. It means so much to my students and to me. :)”
