  • Seeing the World Through Others' Eyes

    This note is sent with a thankful heart for your interest and help in expanding my students' understanding of the world we live in, how their experiences play into the day-to-day workings of our society (short term and long term), and how the experiences of others hold enough similarities as their own to unify but yet are different enough to marvel and respect.

    Through these books my students will explore regions and cultures to which they may never travel, making it even more important to bring onto their hands.

  • Traveling the World with Books

    Thank you so much for your generous donation of nonfiction texts about world cultures and geography for my sixth grade Nonfiction Studies class. These books will give my students access to different cultures from around the world. My students will use these books on a daily basis in class in order to practice and improve our nonfiction reading skills in order to increase achievement across all content areas in school. I can already imagine the looks on my students' faces when they open the boxes of brand new books purchased especially for them. This donation will increase their enthusiasm and zest for learning and reading and hopefully inspire them to use their education to improve conditions across the globe. My goal is to expose my students to the world's many different cultures, while simultaneously teaching them to improve their language and literacy skills in order to assist them on their journey to and through college and success in life.
