  • Calming Crafts

    Funded Feb 14, 2022

Thank you for your donations to our classroom. My students are absolutely thrilled to be able to start using the new craft supplies this year. They were very excited when the boxes arrived and we've only begun to explore the possibilities with these new crafts. I can't tell you enough about how much these materials will benefit my students and their daily sensory and emotional regulation needs. It is donors like you that make it possible for me to provide my students with the materials they need to be successful in the classroom.

I've already noticed a distinct change in the behavior of my students now that we've started using the looms, diamond dots and coloring books. The classroom is definitely more relaxed, peaceful even, and my student's general anxiety has definitely gone down. They're able to focus for longer periods of time and they're working together to create some really amazing artwork! Thanks again for all of your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zaworski

My students are in a self-contained middle school special education classroom for students with a variety of disabilities that make it difficult for them to access their grade level academics. Each child has an individual education plan to help them make progress on goals in academics, social skills, communication and functional life skills. About one-third of my students speak English as a second language and every student works significantly below their grade level in all academic areas. My students are very hard workers and try their best to grow and learn in every subject. They are full of boundless energy, curiosity and incredible potential.
