Students will be allowed to use their calculators at home for homework and other studies. They will take their calculators with them to middle and high school, so the benefits of this donation will be endured for years to come. Students have been commenting on how they cannot afford calculators; I want to not only give them the tools they need to be successful, but also encouragement and support from the community to inspire them to overcome obstacles and succeed. My students have the willingness to wrestle through the labyrinth of Common Core math; they just need the tools and means to do so equitably.
