My students and I love literature that is diverse and connects to our lives. This project will provide diverse literature that specifically target the social emotional needs of my students as well as character education development. Many of the books tackle building self-esteem and coping strategies when having a challenge. Struggling with self-esteem and uncertainty continue to be a need during this extensive disruption in our educational routine. Sharing these books online will assist my students with remote learning experiences that connect to their lives. In the fall, the books will be part of my Back to School unit to build my classroom community with literature representative of my student population and student concerns.
