  • Learning Through More Journaling!

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

We begin each morning in our grade level small groups, to work on their journal entries for the day.

My students are learning how to write sentences correctly, practice their handwriting, and their reading/comprehension skills with the sight word, reading comprehension, and correcting the sentence journals. Our math journals are helping us with skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and so much more. Our math journals also, helps us to learn how to break down word problems, and multi-step problems.

They were so excited to see their new journals on their desks the first day of school. I have seen so much growth in them, just in the first six weeks of school. I cannot wait to watch them grow throughout this school year, with the help of their journals!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Middleton

  • Color Their World with a Book!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

With our new color printer, I have been able to print lots of new books for my students in color, which means that our classroom library has grown tremendously!

The students are loving that they have so many books to choose from this school year, several of them have already moved up a reading level with the help of our new books! They are even able to choose the books that they want to read and can send them to the printer to have their own copy.

We have also been able to print new work for our classroom centers. Looking forward to seeing these kids grow this year!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Middleton

My students are just like any other elementary school kids. They are happy, hyper, and hands-on. My classroom is made up of students from 1st-5th grades. My classroom is currently made up of 15 students. These fifteen students have a variety of needs. A several of my students are non-verbal meaning that they cannot effectively communicate their needs. As in most settings, my classroom is made up of students with very different learning styles. Some students learn visually, aurally, or kinesthetically. Some of the students understand concepts on the first attempt, while others may take more prompting, redirection, or assistance.
