My second grade students attend an elementary school in California. The students are excited to come to school everyday and are highly motivated to learn. The majority of families, sixty-five percent, who attend this school have low, socio-economic status and receive free or reduced price lunch. Many live in government subsidized housing, with a brand new development opening soon across the street. Our school also has a high percentage of English Language Learners and one of the highest concentrations of students who are homeless in our district.
