My students are driven to get to and be successful in college, but they have some obstacle in their life that may hinder this goal. Many of my students would be first-generation college students in their family. Some are economically disadvantaged. Still others have different barriers: language, family, race, and other unfortunate circumstances. Many do not have internet access, printers, or even a computer at home. With rigorous classes comes research and research papers. This creates a whole new obstacle for my students. Last year my students had a 98% attendance rate. They want to succeed. They want to learn! They are not making excuses for their barriers, but they can only do so much on their own. They need help and technology to help make their dreams a reality!
