  • Organized Space, Bright Minds Embraced

    Funded Jan 16, 2025

It is humbling to see your donations toward my classroom. I am so excited to continue with my 'sock baby' project (some of what you donated will go to project supplies!). It is very hard to be a teacher but having the support of a community behind me helps! Ubuntu.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paolocci

  • New School New Room New You!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you for your donation to my classroom. This year our classroom was updated and I was also able to include things to help me organize. As you might know when someone else is organized and your space is organized -- it just feels different!

Many of my colleagues have asked where the bookshelves came from. They fit just perfectly - I could not have planned it better! My students know that they have access to materials and I find them perusing the books now and again.

Also -- the hand sanitizer --- game changer! As we return to school and get used to cold/flu season hand sanitizer is ESSENTIAL.”

    Mrs. Paolocci

  • Running a Successful Pilot Course

    Funded Jan 12, 2024

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for donating to my classroom. This is my ninth year in education and it hasn't gotten 'easier' but it's also a little less hard. The community help that I received is going to help me be the best teacher I can be to the students of East. We are also under renovation at East right now -- this and the addition of new fun project materials will make the year unforgettable. Your kindness will not be forgotten!! Please look through some of the photos as I post them of my students getting to have fun with all the new stuff!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paolocci

  • We're Going on a Field Trip!

    Funded May 13, 2019

Our field trip went by without a hitch! I was so excited to be able to afford my students the opportunity to visit a prestigious university and hear from a renowned psychologist. Dr. Nitschke is known for his work in anxiety in teenage brains. The students were inquisitive and respectful during his speech. After a morning of the lecture, they were able to explore campus and experience 'college' life as they roamed for a good spot to grab some food. (All ; )) students returned with first-hand knowledge of a possible career in Psychology. Thank you for giving them this opportunity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paolocci

  • Molding our Minds

    Funded Dec 27, 2018

By taking a moment to consider giving to my classroom you changed the lives of my students. Thank you for taking the time to donate money to my classroom! My students love being able to do hands-on projects. The materials that I was able to buy with donors choose gave my students more accessibilty to Advanced Placement content. My classroom is truly a hands-on learning environment now and will continue to be for many years to come.

Your impact will not be forgotten by students for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paolocci

  • Fun and Mindfulness in the Psychology Classroom

    Funded Apr 3, 2018

Meditation has taken a new look in my Psychology classroom. With your donations, I have been able to provide multiple ways for my students to access calming their mind and body. Additionally, you have helped me access materials to build classroom community which is absolutely vital in trusting each other throughout the school year. This only adds to many of these High School Seniors last year. They absolutely value the experience to sit back, relax, and truly enjoy their experience. My hope is that someday they will look back on this and appreciate it. Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paolocci

  • Teaching to Breathe 4 Change

    Funded Dec 7, 2017

I have used the meditation process so many times throughout the year. I am very excited to start a new year and start these practices in the beginning.

The process of getting my yoga license was therapeutic for my teaching and personal life. I met some wonderful people who were dealing with some of the similar issues and celebrations.

I use both meditation and some chair yoga techniques in my classroom. It is so fun to hear the students learn that these are easy and accessible stretches that will improve their daily life!”

    Mrs. Paolocci

  • Learning to Breathe 4 Change

    Funded Nov 14, 2017

The opportunity to learn about how I can incorporate wellness into my classroom has been life-changing! I am learning so much about yoga. Not only how to do the physical practice, but about the philosophy behind why we do yoga and the beautifully intertwined history of yoga. A typical weekend of training is 20 hours. It is long, but definitely worth it! During the training, we do some yoga practice individually and then work through meditation practices as a community. We spend an hour learning philosophy and anatomy and spend time learning how to teach the yoga moves. Soon we will be able to practice teaching our own community class. Thank you again for this beautiful opportunity to grow me and my passions.”

  • Classroom Tables: A Classroom to be Proud of

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

These tables are the best! The tables allowed me to open up my room and really give the students space to move around. Additionally, the tables allow the students to work in groups/pairs and this only strengthens their learning.

At first the students were confused - they couldn't believe how great (nice and new!) the tables were compared to what they had been.

I am able to focus more and more on the students needs and I imagine my next project will focus on content and social emotional learning standards.

I am so lucky to be able to afford all of these things because of YOU!

Thank You Thank You Thank You!!!!!”

  • Creature Comfort

    Funded Sep 6, 2016

    Hello Donors,

Thank you so much for your donation. It has truly helped me be the best teacher that I want to be. The chair was an instant hit with all of my students. (I mean of course.)

But the most important part were the supplies you gave me. The brain model will be such an effective tool for most kids to use while studying the brain. The book I am Jazz has allowed me to bring reading material into the classroom that represents all types of Gender and Identity and this is especially important as my high schooler's begin to understand their identities.

    Thank youuuu!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paolocci
