The Sky is the Limit!
Funded Oct 17, 2018The future of transportation for students may not be in cars but may be in the skies, or they might not need to move items with a forklift but rather a drone, or further more they may need to survey their houses or fields to check for damage or evil doers. All of this is possible with a little knowledge that comes from their experience that they will learn from working with this high tech piece of equipment. As Amazon, DHL, and even Domino's Pizza move towards drone systems, my students learning about drones early on might help them in future endeavors.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Chevron Fuel Your School. You and Me We're All 3d
Funded Oct 8, 2018Jobs in the technology fields are the future for my students. So it is imperative that we attempt to make their skills sets in different future fields as complete as possible. I see three dimensional printing as one of those growing fields that students will have to use on a daily basis in the future. I can really see the students wanting to learn this "new" thing in the classroom and find it almost magical to see this string become something. I also see this as a way to keep students away from trouble should this be used after school. I hope that all of the student warm up to using this device and that I too learn how to use it better.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Samsung and one other donor.Access to Sports for All
Funded Mar 27, 2018It is so nice to see ripple and dicks sporting goods working together to help the student all over our great nation. For my personal students they will now have access to new sporting goods that will help them in their play and myself and other coaches to be better prepared for the upcoming seasons. The coach playing cards will allow me to learn new ways to train my teams and when I am not there my fill in coach has a built in way run games and practices without me being there. The safety masks will protect myself and student from stray balls and the sticky mats add extra traction for my teams on the court.”

Funded Nov 1, 2017Shade is an important piece to health here in the Desert Southwest. We want our students to be successful on the field which mean we need to keep them safe from the harmful rays of the sun. It is also important to give a defined space in which we have as a gathering hall for all members of the group and team to know where to go. It is my pleasure to inform you that this shade structure will hopefully be a useful tool for many sports around our school and for many years to come. We also note that purple is the color of royals and loyalty which these students will hopefully be loyal to Dicks Sporting goods for matching with this sports donation.”

Funded Oct 19, 2017Mr. R's Got a New Groove "project ID 2741094" is going to be able to move and change the end of the year activities for my students. A good portion of the materials that requested from this project are based upon our lessons dealing with cultural revolutions of the 1960's and 1970's so as a end of the year activity I endeavor to create a lasting memory for my students by having them create 8th grade tie dye shirts that fully encompass the drive for change of the era from which we are studying.
My students in the past have been able to wear these shirts instead of there uniform but it becomes a uniform and help to unite them in their readiness for the big bad world of high school. The next time they see a student with a Mr. R tie dye shirt they know they have a colleague who has had similar experiences and could be a potential friend when they are at the bottom of the food chain again as freshman.
It is also a way to cut down on end of the year bad behavior which allows for more time to teach these lovely student as much material as possible before they leave the "elementary nest".”

Mr. R's Room Improvements!
Funded Oct 24, 2016To whom it may concern,
Allow me to extend a great deal of gratitude toward you and your corporation for once again supporting the much deserving individuals of our county and schools. Without your continued support many teachers would loose hope that anyone can truly see the impact that a meaningful amount of money can seriously change the impact-fulness of a lesson as it goes deeper into the meanings of lessons while making it more relevant and fun.
The students reaction to the materials is always enjoyable as they now know that we will be able to start doing more hands on activities while keeping their minds engaged in the lesson. With this batch of goodies from donors choose the largest project will be during our civil right era unit. The entire 8th grade class (over 400 students) all stay after school in shifts and make tie dye shirts to commemorate all the learning we do in 8th grade and to prepare themselves for high school. This also serves as a learning example to show the historical methodology behind the "hippie" movement. The students will also use the resource to color in different activities and centers. The tubs are use as group work stations and the electronics allow for me as a teacher to work more seamlessly with all of the new technology which is always moving forward.
I must continue to give you and your organization many kudos for the work that you do and hope that you will continue to help us teacher in the future.”

Soaring Through History with Mr. R
Funded Nov 16, 2015Mr students and I are using our resources very well, we use them to build moments from some of the wars and other moments of change in American History. The student are very careful with thee items because they are new and we have to Able able to use them more than one year at a time. My favorite, and I believe my students favorite project has been when they were able to build a memory sheet from what they felt was an influential piece of WWII propaganda.
My students were very surprised about the materials that they got. They didn't believe that they were actually going to get these items, it was like a Christmas to them. Now they are able to complete the projects they have been dying to do.
The next step for my students is to be able to go on with their lives remembering what they are building looked like and remember what they built in Thier long term understanding of the story of the U.S. As a teacher of student who love to learn that is what I want for them. But the true lesson is to be able to build things on top of eachother”
With gratitude,
