  • Interactive Notebooks!

    We are so thankful here at QC for the notebooks and the colored pencils! My students have only just begun with the interactive notebooks! My students are using them to learn and understand their literary devices. My students are recognizing elements such as allusion and flashback when reading their independent novels and guided reading in class.

    My students were really thankful when they saw all the fresh and brand new notebooks come out of the package. They were excited to choose their colors and to get started. They really, really appreciate the colored pencils as well. I had some but they were in terrible condition. Now, they have plenty to choose from all freshly new and sharpened.

    These notebooks are putting a fresh look on something students learn in all ELA classes. This allows them to be creative and really take ownership. They are loving it and get excited to work on a new term.

My students are mostly from low-income households where they are forced to take on adult responsibilities long before the legal age of adulthood. I'm a middle school teacher, and I see so many of my students that need to go straight home to care for their siblings while parents are at work, live in shelters, and face struggles a lot of adults wouldn't be able to handle. At school we work hard to give all students an equal chance to feel supported and capable of anything! These children really do want to learn, and I work hard to make my classroom a place they can always feel comfortable and safe.

About my class
