Kindergarten should be an exciting place to be for five and six year old children because it is the foundation of their schooling experience. At this age, children need to be adventurous, curious, and engaged in learning. Having the proper materials makes it possible for children to become active participants in the learning process. My classroom is in desperate need of an individual cubby system. This cubby system will allow the children to store their personal belongings and teach them to take ownership of their own property. To promote active engagement in the classroom, I am also asking for literacy and math center activities. These centers will be utilized in whole class and small group activities which will help with taking turns and sharing while being engaged in the learning process.
