  • The Power of Language

    Funded Dec 1, 2024

Thank you for fully sponsoring this project. I know my students and parents will be very excited to have another way to communicate with the staff. It is truly a beautiful thing to be able to break the language barrier between staff, community, families and of course the children. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Roman

  • Comfortable In School Therapeutic Space

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you so much for the wonderful donations you gave to my students. currently the space has greatly improved! My students come running into my office and sit on the beanbags! They are great and my kids talk about the fun colors of the bean bag.

My office is now bright and cheerful. It is very difficult to get supplies in the school system so every little bit helps! I am so moved at how quick everything was provided for my students. I truly can see how great people really can be. Thank you once again my students truly are grateful .”

  • Learning though Feelings

    Funded Oct 1, 2015

This project means so much to me. I do what I do because I care. I am a social worker who provides intensive therapy in a school setting. Working with middle school age student it is difficult for them to explain through words what they feel many times the student will express emotions through negative actions. Some of the actions that my students would experience prior to the material was anger (some students would punch walls or fight with other students), isolation (some student would eat alone in the cafeteria or separate themselves during recess). Thank you for your support”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Roman

I am a social worker for three different schools in one building. Each school has its own personality, its own culture, and its issues. One thing they all have in common is that they are all three middle schools. If you remember anything from middle school or have a child in middle school, you will understand that they are faced with so much pressure from peers and are most vulnerable. This is the age that they are learning to be independent yet are scared to express that independence in fear of rejection or ridicule. My students are thirsty for acceptance, independence, and just starting to understand what the word identity means.
