Hello, My name is Valda West. I teach second grade at N.Q. Henderson Elementary in Houston, Texas. The students I teach are so deserving and such hard workers. They love school and are so eager to learn. My students come from one of the most low income neighborhoods in the Houston area. They don't have much and whatever they get they are very thankful for. The enrollment at N.Q Henderson is very small but the learning is large. I was voted Teacher of the Year last year and I know it was only because of the great group of students I taught last year.
