Soccer for All
Funded Dec 30, 2024I hope this letter finds you well! On behalf of my students and myself, I want to extend a heartfelt *thank you* for your generous donation of the soccer goals to our classroom and school. Your support has made an immediate and meaningful impact on our students—both on and off the field.
The moment the soccer goals were delivered, the excitement was electric. As soon as the students saw them set up, cheers erupted across the playground. Some of our students had never had the opportunity to play with real, full-size goals before, and their eyes lit up with joy. It was one of those unforgettable moments that reminds you why this work matters.
We've been using the goals in a variety of ways. Not only have they transformed our P.E. lessons and recess time, but they've also become a core part of a classroom project focused on teamwork, strategy, and physical wellness. One specific moment that stands out was a class-led "World Cup" tournament, where each group researched different countries, created team flags and chants, and then competed in a friendly series of games. The goals made the games feel so real, and the kids poured their hearts into both the classroom prep and the matches.
Your donation allowed our students to see that their efforts—whether in a classroom or on the field—can be supported and valued by people they've never even met. That means the world to them.
Looking ahead, we're continuing to integrate physical activity with academic lessons. Next, we're launching a "Math on the Field" unit, where students collect and analyze game stats, calculate player averages, and even graph the results of their mini-tournaments. The soccer goals are now more than equipment—they're a gateway to creative, engaging learning.
Thank you once again for your generosity and belief in our students. Your gift has already created joyful memories, meaningful learning experiences, and new opportunities for growth. We're so grateful for your support and can't wait to share more success stories in the future.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Marino
This classroom project was brought to life by Mission Tiger and 2 other donors.KanJam Exercise Plan
Funded Oct 7, 2015Dear Donors,
I'd like to personally thank you for your generous donations. The Kan-Jam equipment that you donated, has provided our students with the opportunity to experience an alternative activity to the typical sports (soccer, basketball, football etc.) conducted in physical education classes. The Kan-Jam equipment has been a great addition to our lifetime actives unit within our physical education curriculum. Funding for equipment can be challenging for New York City Public schools. Your donations have allowed our students to expand their view on physical activity.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Marino
