  • Great Books for Great Success

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

This delivery came just in time! We had just been told that schools may close due to the rise in covid ratings and we needed to pack supplies for the kids to take home with them just in case. This package arrived and the kids were so excited to have brand new books to take home. They have been spending a lot of time reading books online and were so thankful to have physical books to take home to share with their families. Our reading and writing units require them to jot notes on post its and stick inside books, something that they can not do with online books. We are so excited these books arrived just in time!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Diaz

  • Learning While Being Safe!

    Funded Aug 22, 2020

Thank you for making sure that we stay safe during our blended in school days. The face masks have come in very handy when the students need to change them after getting dirty. We are enjoying all of our supplies. We are going to use the binders to help us carry and collect the many math games that we will learn throughout the school year. This will allow the students to have them not only at school but also at home during remote days. All of the colorful paper will be used during our remote Art class with our teacher and the card stock paper is to make math cards that we need multiple copies of to play our math games. Having these at home will help to make sure we have a fun learning experience.”

    Mrs. Diaz

  • Starting School Safely

    Funded Aug 18, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations! The kids were so excited to get their very full supply bags to take home for remote use. It was a wonderful feeling to make sure each kid had their individual folders for each subject as well as construction paper and writing paper to last for a long time. The blended kids were super excited that they received materials not only to leave at home for remote days, but to also have their own materials to use in school. The individual caddies of supplies were so helpful in maintaining social distance between the students. They were surprised to get so many great basic supplies that they would not have had at home and it will make their learning remotely a better learning experience.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Diaz

  • Planting, Growing, and Eating!

    Funded Apr 10, 2017

We would like to thank you for all the planters, soil, seeds, and grow light. We planted our seeds in different ways so that we can see the growth happening right before our eyes. It was amazing.

With the help of the growth light we were able to see the plants begin to grow within one week! We were surprised! The growth light made a big difference on how fast our plants grew. We were able to experience the different scents that come with different herbs and plants. We learned that beets and radish have pink stems and that even herbs grow flowers before you can eat them. That surprised all of us.

It took a couple of months for them to grow into edible food. By the last week of school we were lucky to be able to taste carrots, lettuce, kale, beans, and radish. I took the plants home to my garden over the summer to allow the rest of the plants to grow. During the first week of school I was able to bring in corn, broccoli, squash, and beets. Unfortunately, the watermelons did not grow.

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to grow and taste healthy food!”

  • The Much Needed Carpet

    Funded Sep 10, 2015

Thank you so much for our beautiful comfortable carpet. The children were so excited when they came in after lunch and found the carpet set up in our room. They all ran in and started rolling on the carpet. They shouted hooray and took their shoes off to feel the plush!

They love sitting or laying on the carpet. They enjoy the large squares that give them the right amount of personal space. They have taken turns in small groups to enjoy the carpet during math, reading, phonics and choice time.

The kids are more focused with the carpet. Before the carpet, when sitting on the floor, the kids were wiggly and easily distracted. Upon receiving the carpet the kids are sitting straight and tall and participation has skyrocketed!!!

We truly thank you for helping us in our project of the much needed carpet!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Diaz

My students are eager learners that love to read and solve math problems! We are a school located in Chinatown NYC! The majority of the students come from low income families where English is their second language. Our kids come to school ready to learn but not properly prepared with the supplies needed. But, that doesn't stop the enthusiasm they bring every day as they start a new learning journey!
