ABC, 123...Kindergarten Basics
Funded Jan 20, 2022Thank you for providing our awesome learners with supplies. All the kids were so excited to finally have these materials. They used them throughout the day and in various ways.
They have used them to create wonderful art projects and make words. The paint brushes and containers have saved us so much paint. During free play the children mix the primary colors to make other colors. The magnetic boards are also used during writing and math blocks. During writing the children share drawing and make words with the magnetic letters to match their work. During math, the students show their addition or subtraction number bonds and drawings. The basics go a long way!”

This classroom project was brought to life by A New York City Parent and 2 other donors.Out with the OLD and in with the NEW!
Funded Apr 15, 2017First of all thank you so much for donating to my classroom. My second graders are now able to further their learning throughout the day. We use the tablets during science, social studies, math, and reading. I downloaded various applications that tie into the current subject and topics.
We are studying plant life cycles and observing the functions of plant parts. So, we used the tablets to search for images of different plants parts and life cycles. We used brainpop.com to watch videos about rural, suburban, and urban communities. I added online math games to one of the daily math stations. The students practiced addition, subtraction, measurement, and time games. The tablets have spiced up our schedule. They are eager to get their hands on information from the web.
What's so exciting is that my students do not have to wait until Wednesday afternoons visit the Technology lab for only 40 minutes. They can now use technology everyday.”
With gratitude,
Ms. DeAndrade
Charging Ahead!
Funded Apr 24, 2017First of all thank you for your generous donations. Our class was elated at the rapid responses. Our charging station, protective cases and screen protectors were put to work right away. We received five tablets from a previous donation but needed cases to keep them safe.
With the protective cases we were able to take the tablets on a field trip to a historic town and capture New York CIty from centuries ago. We used the tablets on a daily basis for fun and to practice our math and reading skills.”
