Covid 19 has brought many unforeseen challenges. One challenge that I have seen is that students don't like reading they also struggle with working together. Their social skills and reading skills have both been directly impacted. "If you teach a child to read you have done your job. If you teach a child to love to read you have changed their life forever." My goal is to have a library of books that can be read together in small groups. I want to instill a love of reading, It seems like today fewer and fewer children come to me with that passion. By reading together I would hope it would help them find a way to connect socially. This donation would be a great source for creating a lifelong desire to read and help foster friendships.
