  • Pre-Calculus Students in STEM School Need Graphing Calculators!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation that let us buy 10 new graphing calculators for our math students!

Our school offers a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) program where all students take four years of math, science, and humanities, as well as four years of pathway classes that focus on Engineering, Computer Science, or Biomedical Science. We are a diverse community of learners coming from many socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, and many families can not afford the expense of a graphing calculator for their student, but it is an essential tool for upper level math. We are preparing many students of color and low income students for college and careers in STEM fields and these calculators will help us continue to prepare students to succeed in their future careers in STEM and other fields as well. This resource will make a great difference to our students and will improve their learning in our classroom and we appreciate it!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Klatte

  • Graphing Calculators for Algebra 2 Classroom

    Funded Nov 20, 2015

Thank you so much for purchasing graphing calculators for our classroom!

My Algebra 2 students have chosen to challenge themselves by attending our rigorous public STEM high school and they need support to achieve their goals. Graphing calculators are an essential tool for my students as they explore and work to make the kind of deep mathematical connections that can take them to the next levels in their education and future careers. These calculators will be used regularly and by many, many students over time and we are deeply grateful to have them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Klatte

Our students come from a variety of ethnic and linguistic backgrounds and over 70% qualify for a free or reduced rate lunch. Our school is a public option school for students in the district who seek a rigorous curriculum that will prepare them well for future study or careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).
