We've just started a new reading unit and so many of the texts you helped supply have already been gobbled up by my fifth graders. My students are avid readers who are desperate for new books. They are from low income neighborhoods and families and don’t always have access to books at home. The only place they get to read and “shop” for books is my classroom. I just want them to be able to go to my classroom library and be excited about the titles that they see. They also book shop and take these titles home to read with their parents. They’re always so excited to tell me about what their families thought of the stories and I’m always happy to hear about how these stories are connecting families.
