Ear ye, Ear ye!
Funded Mar 27, 2018I received the boxes for the items 2 days ago. When the mail lady of the school knocked on the door my students in the class ran to the door. She wheeled in 3 big boxes and my student's eyes popped open with joy. They pulled the boxes of the cart and started to tear the box open. It reminded me of kids at Christmas time. They asked me "Ms. Blake did you buy all of these items". I said no a kind company called "Ripple" paid for these items. Their reply was "good people still exist in the world". I replied, "yes they do, and they support student achievement".
The smaller box was opened last. OMG!!! Are these real call lights? They feverishly replaced the jump ropes with this life like call buttons. We had jump ropes before and they would get tangled and fall and crack or break. This call buttons real "pop" when in the mannequin's hand. The students gently place the call button into the mannequin's hand. The room is slowly looking like a small hospital. The students cannot stop pressing the call button. The students take pride in the room with these kind donations.
The dose packs are ready for use and packed in the medication cart. When I first saw these was in clinical with my nursing students. Boy is the medications hard to press out of the dosing card. When I was creating my project, I saw them and said, "What a great practice". Here they are delivered in abundance. I am still waiting for my medication cart. I am sure it will be amazing when it arrives. My students are at AHH!! What is amazing these three items impacted 75 students? I want to thank the organization that funded my project. I was screaming at my house when I received the email. I could not contain myself. Thank you sincerely.”
With gratitude,

She wheeled in 3 big boxes and my student's eyes popped open with joy. They pulled the boxes of the cart and started to tear the box open. It reminded me of kids at Christmas time. They asked me "Ms. Blake did you buy all of these dolls". I said no a kind company called "Ripple" paid for these items. Their reply was "good people still exist in the world". I replied, "yes they do, and they support student achievement".
Keri the mannequin was first one opened. OMG!!! A new mannequin with all the extremities they yelled. They feverishly put him/her together and took residence in the last bed. They named him Mr. Morgan and he is happy with his new home. See I had a mannequin with a missing right leg causing students to struggle with nursing assistant skills. But today it what glorious to see the students dressing and completing perineal care to Mr. Morgan. He did not complain the students were compassionate to him.
The five boys were assembled and prepared for CPR yesterday. They were interesting and because they are red and compact. Some students placed them on the floor and compressions were initiated. The impacts made to a classroom that needed supplies is beyond words. I was not able to ask for a new mannequin until next school year. The skills need to be done now and the students were stressing. The students are at ease due having materials to work with. I now have CPR mannequins that the chest rises and are comfortable to use. What is amazing these two items impacted 75 students? I want to thank the organization that funded my project. I was screaming at my house when I received the email. I could not contain myself still in amazement.”
