A large percentage of the students at my school, Gateway Elementary, come from a disadvantaged socioeconomic background. Many of these students primary language is not English and school can be a struggle for them. By introducing the iPad minis into the classroom, it will help the students want to engage and learn where in the past they may have checked-out and wanted to give up. Research confirms that utilizing technology in the classroom encourages student engagement.
