My precious students range from Kindergarten to 5th grade, and that is a huge difference in body sizes. The chairs we currently use are either too big or too small to make art class a comfortable period. The backward slant of the chairs causes the children to sit on the very front edge of their chairs, and then our walking space is blocked. Not only that, but the chairs are so large that the students cannot fully push the chairs under the table from both sides of the table. When one student pushes his chair fully under the table, another student's chair is bumped out, sometimes actually hitting the student on the other side of the table!
The stools provide a comfortable place to rest the feet, eliminating the need to get comfortable with your legs and feet on the chairs.
My chairs are way too big for my little ones, and when my older students sit in them, their legs hit the underneath of their tables.
