  • Little Math thinkers in Need of a Laptop for Smartboard

    Funded Dec 21, 2018

The impact of this new computer has allowed the children to view many new interactive activities and videos that have enhanced our math lessons. The computer allows the class community to connect to the Internet (which was an issue before) and effectively project projects, presentations and interactive writing for the children to enjoy during instructional time. There are no interruptions with software updates; timeouts or the video not being supported by an outdated version of the Internet. It really feels like a slice of heaven.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ballew

  • Support Innovated Minds with the Usage of iPads

    Funded Sep 16, 2015

When we received the box that contained our three new ipads the children were thrilled! The first thing we did was decide, as a class, how we were going to use our ipads. We researched the top math and literacy apps and downloaded them on the ipads. We designed field tester groups to use and rate each app. The children then shared with their classmates how to use the apps and this kickstarted a critical review writing assignment in the classroom.

Above is only one example of how the ipads have boosted the students engagement and learning experience in the classroom. We are currently designing an advanced innovated collaborative project with two other middle schools. One will be math based and the other literacy based. These ipads have opened the doors for many possibilities and exciting ideas to enrich our already highly rigorous learning environment.

My class and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we are truly appreciative of all of your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ballew

We are 5th grade explorers that love reading and presenting our lessons through the use of technology. Our school is a Title 1 school in a struggling school district located in an urban setting. Resources in the school have been dwindling because of lack of school funding. Our school community tries their best to make-up for the precious resources that have been taken away from our children. However, the severe lack of help yearly is getting too hard even for our community. We thrive off of grants that the faculty members seek out to try and insure a quality education that is equitable for all children.
