I teach 8th grade students at a Title 1 School. Majority of the students at my school are low-income and will be first generation students when they go to college. We have a large Haitian population, where majority of the student are either from Haiti or their parents are from Haiti. The majority of our students are also being raised by grandparents and other guardians. They are tactile/kinesthetic learners who need manipulatives to help make connections. They get excited when we get a chance to do labs.
