My students come from low socioeconomic families struggling to make enough money to cover their basic needs of food and shelter. Our school is a Title 1 school. Transitional Kindergarten is the grade in which they learn to recognize letters and begin to sound out words. This is also the grade in which the students begin to show curiosity for picture books and learn to take responsibility for their belongings. Giving them cool looking backpacks that will keep their books safe and yet allow me to see what is exactly inside them. Help me get them excited about reading while keeping the books safe and clean.
