• Special Chairs for Special Helpers!

  We are so thankful for our new materials! Our special chairs allow my students to feel, and behave, as topic experts. Many students were able to practice this position in our World History class last Term, and new students are experiencing this powerful role in class this Term.

  When the chairs arrived, my students were inquisitive when they saw them - they are MUCH fancier than the typical metal chairs that we have to use daily. I hadn't told them about the Donors Choose request I had made, so they chairs were a total surprise. I then went into the details about how the chairs would be used in class and the students were REALLY excited about what these new chairs were bringing to our classroom and their demonstration of learning.

  Currently, we are beginning to study the Industrial Revolution. We may use our EDGE lab to create simulated items that were created and used during that time period. Then we would create flip grid mini presentations to describe how the items were used and how they contributed to the success of the time period. Learning is exciting!”
