• Learning Through Play - House/Grocery Store Area

• Firsties Learn About Feelings!

  Thank you so much for funding this project! Our little spot of emotions really helped my first graders so much.

  One of my students in particular is nonverbal. He has been able to show how he is feeling by going over and grabbing one of the little spots and bringing it to me. His communication has grown so much by having these little spots in our classroom. He will bring me a little spot and then if I ask him why he is feeling that way, sometimes he will draw me a picture, and sometimes he will show me something on his picture chart. It has helped us so much!

  The students also love to play with the little spots during indoor recess time in our dollhouse. The emotions are all a family and they tell each other why they are feeling the way they are.

• Healthy, Happy Brains!

  Thank you so much for funding this project! Being able to have healthy snacks for the students is always such a blessing. The kids loved being able to have a choice for snacks.

  Being able to have the Clorox wipes to keep our desks and workspaces clean was also amazing! Especially during cold and flu season. My students have been extra healthy in our classroom because we've been able to keep it so clean!

  When we have snacks from Donors Choose the kids never have to worry about going hungry. Thank you!!!!”

• Beginning of the Year Supplies!

  The students were so excited to have pencils, crayons and all the beginning of the year supplies they needed!

  I have several students who REALLY love the fatter pencils and won't even use the regular pencils.

  We use the crayons and glue sticks every day. My students create wonderful masterpieces with their crayons to go with their writing pieces. I have some really talented artists in my class this year!

  We use our glue sticks every day as well. We learn a new sight word each day, and have to cut out and glue the words of a sentence into the correct order.

• Composition Notebooks for Workshops!

  Thank you so much for funding our project!!! I was so incredibly happy that our project was funded! We do so many science experiments throughout the year. We document each experiment and process in our science journals. It is so awesome at the end of the school year to look back through our journals and see all the amazing things we have learned in Science.

  We also use the composition notebooks for our writing workshop. I cannot wait to see how well these students improve on their writing schools throughout the school year. Having these notebooks is such a wonderful blessing, thank you so much for continuing to fund our projects.”

• Snacks for Big Brains!

  My kiddos were SOOO excited to have so many choices for snacks! They look forward to snack every day. We have snack around 10 am each day because our lunch is so late. They loved being able to have multiple choices. I loved that they were eating something healthy for snack!

  I have several students from previous years that also come visit my classroom. They would also ask for a snack when visiting. So your snacks not only helped my students, but other students as well.

• Peace Out Germs!

  We use the wipes to clean our desks AT LEAST twice a day, if not more. First graders can be kind of gross (haha) and we clean our desks A LOT. We appreciate you donating to our classroom, and we hope everyone can continue to support us as the year finishes up. We appreciate the support so much.

  When kiddos leave early or are sick in the classroom, the other students know that Mrs. Meek is going to go a little crazy with the cleaning supplies, I don't want anyone else to get sick!

  The kiddos were shocked by the crayons! They were so excited to have so many new colors to use to draw people with! They also loved the names of the different colors as well.

  The students have loved being able to make projects with the construction paper as well. They have made people, robots, houses, shape people and so much more!

  My students are a wonderful group of artists this year, so it has been wonderful to be able to provide them with the tools and materials they need to continue their love of art.”

• Smart Brain Food!

  Thank you so much for donating to this project! The kiddos were so excited to have healthy snacks in the classroom! There are some siblings of my students who also were excited to have some of the snacks in our classroom when they visited us as well.

  Having healthy snacks that the kids like to eat is such a wonderful thing. Being able to have them grab a snack during our long school day is such a blessing. They cannot learn if their basic needs have not been met. Have you met a hungry 6 year old? They get HANGRY!! We are so very happy that you all chose our classroom to donate to, we appreciate all of you!”
