  • Cozy Classroom Carpet for Learning!

    Funded Nov 6, 2019

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations. Thank you for helping to ensure a Cozy Classroom Carpet for Learning!! I can't wait to see the looks on the students faces when they are choosing their spots on the rug. A rug may seem trivial, but for children who need a space to call their own and conference with their partners, a rug is a treasure. The rug is going to motivate my students so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nelson

  • A Community Place: Carpet for Learning!

    Funded Nov 28, 2017

The first week that the carpet arrived in our classroom, I saw independent and read to someone increase. Students were eager to read on the carpet. A number of students who did not have a spot they enjoyed in our classroom, now had a spot that they referred to as their own.

The carpet was a big hit with all of my students. My students enjoyed having a bright, colorful, and cozy place to read. The carpet had a positive impact on our class. We will continue to use the carpet as one of our reading spaces.”

  • Yes, Organize Our Books!

    Funded Nov 3, 2017

This is just a small token of gratitude for your generous donation to our classroom. The book bins that you donated have helped my students every day. We've used them to organize our book by genre, go shopping for books, and to sort our books by authors' purpose. We have student librarians who enjoy keeping our books neat and organizing them for others to select books quickly.

Our students are learning about being organized and taking responsibility for our classroom, so without your help, my students would not have had these vital resources and structure. ”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nelson

  • Bam! Fiction and Non-Fiction for ELLs!

    Funded Aug 25, 2017

All of the books were a big hit with my students. The moment the books arrived to our class my students were eager to explore them. They took picture walks and immediately started discussing the text. Once I started to use the books to assist students with reading, they started using picture clues to connect the words to the pictures. A number of students who were struggling with reading were able to decode the words and read with expression. When one of my parents entered the classroom, she commented that she was so impressed with how engaged the students were. We appreciate all that you have done to make reading more accessible for my students!”

    With gratitude,

  • Have a Seat and Explore!

    Funded Oct 12, 2016

This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The seat pockets that you donated have helped my students every single day. We've used them to organize our materials and cut down times in between our transitions.

When students enter my classroom my job is to get them from where they are to where they need to be an academic year later. Organization plays a crucial part in my students' learning experience.

Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms would go without.”

  • Literacy For All!

    Funded Feb 3, 2016

This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The dry erase boards, letters, and letter sound tubes have helped my students daily!!! We use the materials to learn new words, write sentences, and match real objects to beginning letter sounds.

Our school opened up an additional Kindergarten classroom after and influx in enrollment, so without your help, my students never would have had these hands on resources. For kindergarten students, manipulatives are vital towards build a concrete approach to learning.

Without donors like you, our class would have gone without this year. I am truly thankful for your assistance!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nelson

My students come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Many of them are learning English for the first time. Some of my students come from generational poverty and they WILL be the first to graduate high school. Regardless of the barriers that my students are facing, they all come to school excited to learn.
