  • We Need a Laptop

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you for providing us with a reliable laptop. It is a big help in helping us to project our online textbook on the smart board. It is also used to help us share PowerPoint with our classmates and with zoom lessons. The MacBook has served our needs extremely well. We don't have to worry about the computer shutting down right in the middle of note taking.

Again we say thank you for being a generous donor and always coming through for us. When we think that our projects won't get funded you, Ms.Patty always come through.

This year has been real challenging because a lot of students have not received their school laptop because of the lack of chargers, computers that are broke and simple just a shortage of computer since the enrollment increase.

Again we say thank for your willingness to support education and students in general.”

    With gratitude,

  • Music Makes Magic

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

My students were very excited to receive the radio, lysol spray and surge protector. The students enjoy listening to music while doing their assignments. We also use the radio to play inspirational music before class that help motivate the learning for the day.

The lysol helps us keep our room refreshed throughout the day. During the winter months, several students were bothered with flu, covid and strep throat so it was important to keep lysol on hand to keep from spreading the diseases.

The surge protector was an added asset since our classroom has very few outlets. Most of the students do not charge their computers at home. The computers are a vital part of our education now. We use them as our books and for resource purposes.

Again we say thank you for all you do for students.”

  • Snacks and Hydration Improve the School Day

    Funded Dec 6, 2022

Thank you for your generous donation for the snacks, water, gatorade and juice. The students really enjoyed them. The water and gatorade was essential for our students learning after we were faced with a water crisis.

When the snacks arrived, the students thought it was Christmas. They were very excited and really enjoyed receiving the snacks when they came to class hungry. Also, I would use the snacks and juices as incentives for doing good and as rewards for achievement.

The students are eagerly waiting for me to submit another project to aid them during their time of hunger or as a reward system for doing their work.

Again we say thanks for all you do.”

Thank you for the iPad. We are constantly using the iPad in class doing ACT prep and Mastery Prep. Also, some students uses it to do their papers, project, and to print off their ACT tickets.

The students only has internet on their school issued devices so that enables them from printing to printers in the school. They constantly uses the iPad to print their documents since the teachers are able to use their email address to sign to the internet .

Again, we say thank you for funding our project.k”

  • Staying Hydrated Is Essential to Life and Learning!

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you all for the water. The students were elated to see the water and the various kinds of water. The water came at critical time in Jackson, MS. Jackson, MS is constantly facing a water crisis. I keep water in my refrigerator for the students who enjoys a good cold bottle of water and also there is water near the refrigerator for the students who prefer room temperature water.

The students are not provided with water in the cafeteria nor is there water for the physical education student. For this reason, my classroom serves as a resource for students to obtain water. Also, I have a lunch class and students with diabetes who are constantly in need of water. Those students also have the chance to drink water for hydration and with electrolytes.

Again, we say thank you for the water and juice.”

  • We Can Designs

    Funded Dec 20, 2021

Thank you for the Cricut maker. My students are excited to learn how to use it so that they can make their own T-shirts and other items. Every year, they have to pay for several t-shirts for homecoming, clubs and organization, and class shirts. Some students can't afford to buy there shirt so we can use the cricut maker to make alternative t-shirt that will be similar to the ones that the students purchase.

The cricut maker will also be used to make t- shirts and other item for National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. The clubs can use the Cricut Maker to design items to sale as a fund raiser project to offset fees that they have to pay throughout the year.

Again we say thank you for all you do to help educate our students.”

  • Motivational Incentives!

    Funded Mar 23, 2022

Testing is a very important component in education. Our students are faced with doing well on the end of the year state assessments, AP assessments and IB assessments. BY the end of the year, senior are no longer interested in taking any type of exam. All they want to do is graduate. With this in mind, teachers are heavily challenged to get their students interested. We started offering incentives to motivate the students. I used the AirPods, which are very popular among teenagers as my incentive.

I told my students if they scored a three or better on their AP exam that I would give them the AirPods. They immediately started striving to get them. The AirPods were a great resource for the student being that a lot of students desire them but can't afford them.

Again, we say thank you for helping us improve our students scores. We improved our school letter grade by two. In other words we were two letter grade above our previous score.”

  • Help Protect Me From the Dreadful Covid-19 Disease at School

    Funded Nov 22, 2021

My students were excited to get these supplies. They thought Christmas had come again. They were excited to unpack the supplies and place them in the storage closet. They were eager and excited to put the sanitizing machine together.

I put the sanitizing machine at the door so that the student could use it upon entering and exiting the classroom with easy access. They also love to wear the black and the colored masks opposed to the normal blue ones. The sanitizing spray and wipes are being used to wipe the desks at the beginning and ending of class.

Again thank you for providing my student with supplies that they could use readily use without hesitation. Student like easy access to materials that they need.”

  • Mobility to Keep Us Safe

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you for your generous donation. It is so wonderful to know that you value educating our young people. With the recent surge in Covid cases the cart is a hugh success story for our school. It is being used by myself, my students and one of the assistant principals.

I use it in the hallway to do my planning before school when we are on hall duty. It allows me to prepare my lessons and powerpoints before classes starts as well as take attendance and grade papers. I also use it for a desk to connect my laptop to my smartboard.

The students also use it for presentation purposes and as a desk when they sit in a regular chair instead of a desk. We have students who are pregnant and some who's not comfortable with sitting in a desk. Other students just prefer sitting in a chair around my desk.

One of the assistant principal' enjoys using it in during class time when she is monitoring hallway. She can continue to do her office work.

It is a wonderful assest. All the teachers and principals want one just like it.”

Our classroom printer is used to print students' projects, PowerPoint projects, or just a Word document. It is used to print college applications, job applications, resumes that are used for jobs and college applications. We use the printer to print the students' personal statements for a college application. We have an 80% college rate in our school. We work hard every day to reach all of our students to go to college or a trade school to further their education. My students also need paper. A printer that can copy, scan and print with paper will allow my students to complete their projects and print them in our classroom. This printer will be replacing a printer that has seen better days. My classroom has been going to the library to print off any paperwork needed for our projects. Having a printer it the classroom would be so beneficial for them because everybody is trying to get to the library. in a school or 1300 that is a lot of students.
