Working Headphones = Happy Students! Happy Students = Happy Teacher!
Funded Aug 10, 2022I am so grateful for you donation to my classroom with providng new headphones for my students. I know that this donation was done last school year but I am still using with my students this year. It has been so great and helpful that my students have headphones that work.
I have been able to focus on my small groups because I do not have to get up and help students figure out why their headphones aren't working. The students also loved that they had bigger headphones for their ears becuase they are more comfortable.
Thank you again for you donation, I truly appreciate it!”

Movement Helps the Brain Focus!
Funded Oct 7, 2016I first want to start by saying thank you so very much for your donations to my classroom project. I was so excited for these wobble chairs. I had heard so many great things about these chairs and I knew that they would be so beneficial to my own classroom.
When our class first got the chairs the students were so excited and wanted to try them right then! Before I had any one student use them for the purpose of moving while learning. I allowed each student to have a chair for the whole day. I was so impressed with how much these helped every student. I honestly wanted to buy 20 more right then.
After every student had a turn. I was able to pick specific students to sit on these chairs during individual work, rug time and during guided reading. It has amazed me at how much it has helped those friends that just need to move. I never wanted to tell a child they couldn't move because that was what they needed but I also knew that having a student jumping up and down was going to be too distracting to the rest of the students. This chair has been perfect for this reason. The student can move and it is not distracting to the other students. I have even used a chair for a child who has had a hard time focusing. The idea is that they have a chair that will have them continually moving so their body and brains are more alert.
I will continue having students use these chairs as a way to learn while moving. I have even thought about having a chair be an incentive for a students to push themselves a little harder.
Thank you again for your donations, I truly feel so blessed to have so many people care enough for my class and students.”

Rainy Day Games - Hands-On Learning!
Funded Mar 7, 2016Dear Donors:
My class and I would like to tell you thank you, for your generous donations to provide for our Rainy Day Games and Hands on learning project. When we received the items it was like Christmas for the students to see the fun items that were donated to our class. Of course they wanted to stop everything we were doing and play with every game right then. I think what made this even more special to them and me was that these items were donated by people we know. They all asked, "Is that the one my mom/grandma/grandpa/ donated?".
Since we have had these items we have had plenty of rainy days here in Utah. It is so nice because the students are okay with staying in and playing with our fun games or activities. I've even incorporated some of the items into our centers. They really love the Discovery Cubes. They think it is so great that they can look through the cubes one way but it is showing them something behind them. So we had a little mini lesson on reflections of the mirrors. The Ten Frames have been amazing in supporting my students with compose and decompose. It was an area that some of my students struggled with. I was able to take the magnetic ten frames and build numbers on the board. Then I had them show me how to build a number as well. I've made the Ten Frames one of our centers and the students are so excited to do math!
As the year comes to an end I get to do testing need to do testing with students during rotations and centers. This requires the other students to be very engaged in what they are doing so I can get my testing done. I love that I now have the option of having students grab the games or science activities. They will be having fun as well as learning. Games can be great for counting, taking turns, social skills and so much more. Kids are learning and having fun! What better way to learn.
Thank you again for all of your donations. This truly has been beneficial for my class this year and many years to come!”

Dive Into Reading
Funded Oct 21, 2015Thank you so much for donating to our listening center. It truly has helped my students "Dive Into Reading"! The students were thrilled for every package that we received. We would open each box together as a class and the students clapped and cheered for every book I pulled out. But when I pulled out the CD player they cheered the loudest! They were so happy to be able to have a radio that they knew how to use. I was just as thrilled as well. Since the students could use the CD player by themselves I was able to pull individual groups and read with them.
Since we received the books the students have been able to listen and read to several of them. They love the books! We were able to read a couple of books on CD as a class learning about bears. Which helped us in our unit on Fact or Opinions. After they listened to the books they were to write one fact and one opinion about bears. That is what the last photo is. We displayed what they said in the hall. A lot of the students said that they thought that bears were "kot" (cute). For facts they came up that they eat "fesh" (fish), they eat "hune" (honey), etc...
Our class reads one or two books a day as a class, typically with the unit we are working on or the season. I've been able to find some books on tapes that work and use our CD player. If its on CD I allow the students to lay down and listen to the book or they can sit up and look at the picture.
Once again we are truly grateful for your donation! It has been utilized so much already.”
