Funded Jan 13, 2010Thank you so very much for your very generous donation to our school. We are now in the process of integrating media into school wide venues called Town Hall. Town hall is a place where school wide announcements are made as well as showcasing student achievements and various community service projects. Community service is an integral part of our schools' mission as every student needs to complete at least eighty hours upon graduation. We have showcased several student made movies highlighting the many amazing community service projects they have participated in. This has been made possible by the media software installed on the MacBook Pro computer generously donated to our school.
Currently, two of my senior classes are putting together a kind of digital yearbook. It will feature all of the teachers on the staff bidding a farewell to the graduating class. Students are interviewing the seniors to see what colleges or plans they have after high school. This will encourage the lower grades to hopefully follow the same path. In a part of the country where statistically, graduation rates are quite low, this type of new media can assist in keeping students interested and motivated in school.
This PowerBooks has been a wonderful beyond expectations. Our students are learning how to create film, edit, create soundtracks, and voiceovers, and experiment with other powerful software on the computer. Thank you again, from all of the students and staff here at our school. This type of new and innovative technology will surely assist in bringing my students up to speed with current trends in technology.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Cavazzi
