Help Us Act It Out
Funded Oct 18, 2024Your generousity has made such a positve impact on the students in Drama Club! After receiving the supplies, I shared them with the students. They were so excited and began applauding. I wish you could see this for yourself!
We are starting dress rehearsals for our production, Finding Nemo, on May 19, 2025. The students have been working so hard on learning their lines, projecting their voices, and acting out their characters. When they put on the costumes that your donation purchased, those characters really come alive. Their confidence level has increased so much and there is no more nervousness about being on stage. You have made a positive impact on their confidence, self-esteem, and gave them an opportunity to excel outside of the classroom doors.
These supplies will be used by many students for years to come.”

Ms. Griffith
Courageous Coping
Funded Nov 18, 2023With your donation, my students were able to overcome their fears and cope. My students who had anxiety worked hard for many months to practice for a Drama Club production at the end of the school year. Many students have anxiety about performing and speaking in front of others. Working through these fears helps build confidence and transfers into the classroom by increasing their willingness to talk with their peers and into their writing skills.
When the students first saw their costumes they would use for the production, The Jungle Book Kids, they were so excited. Their smiles were priceless. During the production, the students performed so well! We will be using these costumes in the future to help more students in future productions.
Thank you for making a difference in my students' lives.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Nevada Department of Education.Healing Hearts
Funded Nov 5, 2021Thank you so much for providing my students with all the social emotional learning materials. Returning to full-time, face to face instruction this year has been challenging to some students.
My students have been so excited to play the social emotional games! When I first introduced the games, they were so excited! The games that this project provided have helped increase my student's ability to communicate with each other, solve problems, and accurately describe how they are feeling so that they can advocate for themselves and get appropriate support from those around them.”

Loving Literacy
Funded Feb 26, 2019My students are still using these resources and they are even more important now than before to help students catch up on learning from gaps in achievement due to virtual lessons. Students are using the materials every day in school with their peers. Most importantly, the students are having fun while sharpening their reading skills! Many of them are showing improvement after just a few weeks of interventions with the games.
Thank you for making an impact in my students' lives. It is truly priceless to see them loving literacy!”

No More Worries!
Funded Jan 30, 2011The words thank you just can't capture the gratefulness that is felt when my students were able to make worry dolls. As a group, we have read the books provided to learn about what worrying is, what does it look like, how does it feel, and what do I do with the feelings. The students really enjoyed creating their own worry dolls. The students were able to hear the story of the worry dolls.
The story of the worry dolls: The Mayans believed that there are worry people. You should whisper your worries to these, your special worry dolls, and then, later that night.... You should place your worry dolls under the bed, the hammock, the pillow, or the leaves you sleep on. When you wake up, the worry dolls will have taken your worries away!!
Students have told me that since making their worry dolls, they have transferred their stresses to the doll and have felt happier. Thank you for making this possible! ”

Ms. Griffith

Funded Dec 2, 2009The videos, books, and music cd has helped the students at my school learn about character education in a fun way. The book, Edwurd Fudwupper Fibbed Big shows the students what happens when one fib is told and how much of a mess it can turn out to be if another fib is told to v=cover the first one and so on. From the Character Education books and CD, the students are learning to sing songs that teach them about character traits. Displaying these character traits are priceless in their school community, home, and can be useful when the students enter the work world.
The different formats are also great! Students have the opportunity to be exposed to books, music, and DVD. The music allows the classroom to be kinestestic and tap into the multiple intelligences, which is important to meet the needs of the various learning styles found within the classroom.
The materials that you funded will be used for many, many years and find purpose in making my students great characters!”

Funded Feb 12, 2009I cannot say thank you enough for your thoughtful and generous donation. The whiteboards, the erasers, and the whiteboard markers are working out wonderfully! We have used them to play Middle School Millionaire, turning the one player original game into a whole class activity! This game helps them learn about different changes in Middle School that they need to be aware of before the first day of school.
With the budget shortfalls in our district, this gift was so appreciated. The fifth graders at my school have had so much fun with this all because of your donations.
Thank goodness there are truly great donors like yourselves out there!”

Curious about Careers!
Funded Mar 12, 2009Thank you for your generosity. The students who used the materials had a lot of fun. They made pictures of what they wanted to be using the books and posters. I think that the materials helped them be more creative and expand their knowledge of careers. Each student chose what they wanted to be and then used the books available to create their "grown up me" picture considering the tools they would need to do this job and any skills. I will be using these books and this lesson for years to come with my students at this school because of the great resources I now have. Thank you so much!”
