Let's Get Creative
Funded Dec 24, 2018Every week my students have some type of engaging activity were your supplies are being used. We played a vocabulary game with the sticky notes on the wall and slapped the answers as the definition was called out. They had a blast and played the game again the very next week. The students felt blessed that someone would care enough to buy supplies for their science class.
We continue to use the supplies until they run out for more fun ways to review and practice science vocabulary. I feel that literacy is just as important as science. Please take a peek at the photos I uploaded on the activities we have done with the supplies. Thank you again.”

Funded Dec 17, 2017My students were so excited to hear about having supplies to use for projects and activities in the classroom. Every week I would update them on the progress of the page and how much funding was received. I teach 8th grade science in a low income area and most students don't come to school with a backpack. I try my best to provide supplies for creative outlets for every student to learn within their learning style. My biggest purchase every year is pencils.
Some of the supplies helped make the classroom more inviting but overall the supplies were used by every student to showcase their learning. They started by creating colorful posters of science safety using the colored paper and markers. They then created colorful anchor charts about chemical reactions and movements in space. They even added some of the posters to their interactive notebooks to use as a study guide.
The scissors were the most anticipated supply. They were so happy to have adult scissors to use instead of elementary scissors that were passed down from another teacher. We will continue to keep science fun, creative and colorful as we learn everything that makes the world work.”
