  • Coding with Ozobots

    Funded Dec 8, 2021

Thank you for giving this wonderful opportunity to my students! It has been very difficult in the teaching and learning community without the ability for students to closely collaborate due to Covid protocols. I am so excited for each student to be able to control their own robot and share their code virtually with their peers. This opens up so many g doors for our students and provides students even more opportubities! Thank you so much for making this possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Campbell

  • Hands-On Coding for Dual Language School

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you SO MUCH or your generous donations to our program. We have been able to provide some amazing opportunities for our students because of people like you! This year, we were able to start our in-person learning off with some amazing activities. Our students were able to use paper engineering skills to build cities and then program Ozobots to navigate the cities. The students had to combine their knowledge of engineering, measurement and coding with their creativity to make these cities and have them be functionally navigated by the Ozobot.

As some of the classes wrap up their Ozobot city activities, we are starting on the Lego WeDo coding for the older students and the Botley/Coding Critters for the younger students. The classes who have started this have completely fallen in love with these kits. The hardest part of these lessons is getting the kids to put them away at the end of the class! You have made my job of teaching much easier because the students don't want to stop!

We are over-the-top excited about having the opportunity to use these kits this year and they will be an integral part of our daily instruction. Thank you so much for your contribution to this project!”

  • Keep Our STEAM Packs Stocked!

    Funded May 4, 2021

Thank you so much for your contribution to our STEAM packs. We have had great success with these activities and they all have waitlists. They are very popular. These were especially helpful when students were learning at home but the impact continues as our students are often having to take extended breaks from school due to illness or exposure.

Because of your contributions, We were able to put together STEAM packs with catapults, "Gearbugs" (a gear mechanism that students can build and keep), plants, robots and other activities. We still have supplies and are continuing to expand our options for students as we curate more options. Your contribution made it possible for kids to take these activities home and share them with their families.

During this difficult time, it is so helpful for families to have shared activities and your contribution has made a positive impact on many of our families and our community. Thank you so much!”

  • 1:1 Coding Robots

    Funded Sep 4, 2021

Thank you so much for this amazing gift! What a fun opportunity that you have given to my students! I can't wait to get these into the hands of children!

Children love coding and these ozobots allow students to code at all levels, from drawing at the transitional kinder level to actual coding at the upper elementary level. So excited to get to using these!”

    Funded Mar 15, 2021

We are so excited that you purchased these books and materials for our school library! We love making sure that we have a diverse selection of both books and technology and you have made this possible for our students! We cannot thank you enough and can't wait for our students to get these materials in their hands. We will update you with how it goes when we are able to do that! Thank you!!!”

  • Coding for Elementary Students

    Funded Jun 14, 2018

Thank you so much for funding our coding project. We just received our robots and are so excited to get started using them. Our students have started using the code.org lessons to learn block coding skills at their grade level and are working towards using the Sphero bots once they understand the basics of coding. These bots have motivated so many of them to learn these skills. Each classroom erupted with excitement when I brought out the Sphero bots. They are all so excited to be creating obstacle courses and coding the robots to navigate them in the next few weeks.

Last week, I used the Sphero bots with our life skills classroom which serves our district's students with complex special needs. The students were so excited to navigate the Sphero bots with the steering control and were learning essential directional/positional skills in the process.

We are so thankful for the opportunity to have these bots in the hands of children!”

  • iTouch to Communicate (For Children with Autism)

    Funded Sep 14, 2010

I can't believe that I didn't upload this earlier! I wrote this thank you several years ago but apparently did not submit it, please forgive me! Thank you so much for your donations toward the ipods for my Autism class. The students LOVED using the iPods and it gave them opportunities to communicate with others. Because of the practice that they received on the iPods, some students even transitioned into more complex devices. For the first time, they were able to communicate needs and wants. Again, I am so sorry for not submitting this thank-you before. We greatly appreciate your donations that allowed our students to be successful with this! We couldn't do it without you!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Campbell

  • Help Children with Autism Communicate and Become Independent

    Funded Dec 7, 2009

Thank you so much for your generous donations. We are thrilled to tell you that our students are making great strides in communicating and are becoming more independent individuals. We have recently started using our new AAC device in group activities, giving all students a voice when we play games and read books. One of the more exciting advances is from a newly verbal student has started to imitate the voice output device. The device is helping him to learn animal sounds and frequently used phrases. I can place photos of items on the device and when he hears the words while looking at the picture, he learns the label for that item.

We are so thankful for your donations so that we are able to provide our students these tools. They will benefit out students now and well into the future. Thank you so much! ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Campbell

I teach kindergarten in Northwest Washington state in a dual language program (Spanish and English). After several years of teaching kindergarten, I am moving the position of school librarian. The district in which I teach is a fairly small school district and serves a community that is culturally diverse. The socio-economic status of the community and the children that my school serves is very low. Our current free and reduced lunch rate (The percentage of families living at that poverty level) is 79%.
