  • "Little Dreamers' Den"

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

We've been thrilled to incorporate the new resources into our classroom! One of the first projects we tackled with the materials was community helpers, where students were able to act out each Community helper. This hands-on experience has been a game-changer in helping them grasp complex concepts, bringing lessons to life in a way we hadn't been able to before.

Their reaction was priceless! The moment they saw the materials, there were gasps and cheers all around. Many of them rushed over to see how they could use the new tools, and you could see the excitement in their eyes. It immediately sparked curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, which has carried over into every project since.

Right now, my students are enjoying the new materials which continue to play a vital role in their development. Students are busy cooking, using pots and pans, juice maker, coffee maker, mixer, which helped them developed critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, sharing.

The next steps involve creative lesson around food , and we are really excited to see how their understanding deepens with each step. They've already come so far, and I know these resources will continue to open new doors for them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mkrtchyan

  • Virtual Learning Kit

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Your generous donations have allowed my students to tap into their creativity and let their imaginations run wild. Each student has been enjoying their learning kit and using the markers and paper to draw and learn how to write. Along with their drawings, my students have been able to make 3D creations with their play dough. The play dough allows for them to get creative while improving their fine motor skills. The pure joy on each students' face when they began unpacking their virtual learning kits was very heartwarming!”

  • Music Experience for Preschoolers

    Funded Dec 27, 2018

Your generous donations have brought music to our ears, LITERALLY! Our classroom is now filled with music coming from the various instruments. Our children are so happy that they now have more musical gadgets and they no longer have to wait to be able to use their favorite instruments. This has also been a learning opportunity, as we had a discussion on the various instruments, the sounds they make, what they are made of, and how they are made.

When our students first saw the boxes arrive, they were curious, excited, and ready to rip them open to reveal the goodies inside. They all sat down in a circle and took turns opening the boxes. After seeing all of the instruments, they couldn't decide which one to play with first.

We cannot thank our wonderful donors enough! You all have brought such joy and music to our classroom!”

  • Helping Fine Motor Skills for Preschoolers

    Funded Dec 29, 2018

Your generous donations have brought creativity into our classroom in many forms! Our students absolutely love creating buildings and structures with the legos. Our students enjoy hands-on activities where they can express their creativity.

When our students first saw the boxes arrive, they were curious, excited, and ready to rip them open to reveal the legos and magnetic tiles, they couldn't decide what they wanted to build with.

We cannot thank our wonderful donors enough! You all have brought such joy and creativity to our classroom!”

  • Manipulatives and Math Through Play

    Funded Feb 23, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity and funding my project. My students were really excited when they first saw all these new materials. They are using these materials every day during free play time, they like to play with the How Tall Am I? measuring game. They are learning while playing. They love to name and match the geometric shapes, they enjoy rolling the dice, count and match the dots with a numbers. It makes me happy to see the excitement and smile when they succeed. There are other math concepts they are learning like measurements, geometric shapes and even addition; with all this new materials it is very easy and fun for children to develop not only these concepts but fine motor skills too.

Thank you again for making my project a success."”

  • Gross Motor Activities for Pre-K

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thank you for your donation to my project.

These materials have helped my students have a more exciting and fun outdoor program. The bike area had little for gross motor development and now it has become exciting for the children. Having four more bicycles allows more of my students to improve their gross motor skills at a given time. I see the joy in their faces. Along with the bicycles the hula hoops were fun for the children. Some of my students didn't know how to hula hoop. The jump ropes help keep the children active while improving their gross motor skills. The tossing games bring the team players together and the children really enjoy it.

My students were over the moon whenever we received our donations. They were so excited to have more bicycles to ride, jump ropes to jump with, hula hoops to hula with, and to have a new tossing game. The children were fighting over who gets to open the boxes. They were quickly tearing the packing open and throwing it to the side to see what was inside. When they took out their donations out of their packing, they kept asking when they were gonna play with them and if they could use them right now.

The next steps for my students have been achieved. Our classroom needed help developing their gross motor skills and now they can with all of their new wonderful donations. Thanks to the very generous donors, our classroom is now fully equipped with the tools that these children need to be successful, lifelong learners.

Every day I watch my students play with these toys and I am truly grateful for you, donors, for helping fund my class! It has not only helped my own classroom, but those in other classrooms. I am lucky to have the opportunity to give and share what I have to other students in our school.”

    With gratitude,

  • Music and Movement in Preschool

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

Our students are loving their new speaker and radio. Every morning we dance and sing using our new equipment. We are constantly playing music, whether we are inside or outside. It is great that the speaker has blue tooth because we are able to listen to whatever we want.

Whenever the boxes were opened, the students were happy and began requesting music. As soon as I played music, they started jumping, playing, and dancing around.

The next steps for my classroom is to teach them the importance of music and teach other subjects through music because music makes it more fun and enjoyable.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mkrtchyan

This classroom project was brought to life by Aspect Ventures and 4 other donors.
  • Dramatic Play Dress Up and Puppet Show

    Funded Feb 9, 2017

Thank you for your donations because they have made a big impact in our classroom. The students are enjoying their new costumes for the dramatic play area and can't wait until it is time for them to play. They are now able to have a wide variety of choices in who they want to dress-up as and role-play. The children now have mastered the dramatic play area and love to play with the puppets. Their vocabulary has improved and they have a deeper sense of theatrics.

When the students saw the boxes, they were ecstatic and couldn't wait to open up the boxes to see what was inside. After the boxes were opened, they took all the costumes and puppets out, but couldn't decided what they wanted to play with or wear first.

The next step for the students is to act out their very own play. The children usually put their own twist on the storybooks that we have read, but it would be great for them to create a story of their own to act out.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mkrtchyan

  • Manipulatives and Puzzles for Preschoolers

    Funded Sep 1, 2015

I walked to my new classroom at the beginning of the school year with almost no manipulatives and puzzles to help my students engage in learning. Thanks to Donors Choose and donors such as you for helping my students and I succeed.

When my students first opened the boxes of materials they were extremely excited. Before hand I explained to all of them what we received and how we would use the materials. As the days went on I saw a complete change in my classroom. The children were engaged with the materials, they worked together in groups, and expanded their creativity in ways I could not imagine.

The impact this donation has had on my classroom is immense. My students are fully engaged in the materials such as the magna-tiles. They are so focused on using their creativity to make structures such as houses, castles, garages, sea creatures, and more. It is amazing watching them use their imagination to build beautiful things. They also used the puzzles as a group working together to complete their work. They are persistent and engaged with all the materials. They are curious in their learning by exploring the materials; they are focused and learning self-control, and have greatly improved their attention maintenance.

These materials have also helped with my English Language-Learners who use expressive and receptive language to communicate what they want to play with and create. And lastly, these materials have helped improve their fine motors skills as much as their cognitive development.

Words cannot express how thankful I am for your donations and your support. It has improved the environment of my classroom tremendously. These manipuatives and puzzles have become a valuable educational tool. I see so much collaboration and social interaction. I know this will continually enhance and enrich my students learning experiences.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mkrtchyan

I have observed that my students enjoy learning through sensory and fine motor play. My students are thoughtful and open to discovering new materials and enjoy building with their hands and using their creativity during free play. In the last few weeks, I have observed that my students need more challenging materials to advance their learning experience. They enjoy building large sculptures with LEGO bricks and spend much time playing with the few puzzles in my classroom. Currently, we have limited materials in our classroom, and it has become increasingly difficult for me to plan activities to engage fine motor and cognitive learning.
