  • Bringing Technology Into the Classroom

    Funded Oct 21, 2016

This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my students. The chromebooks that you donated have helped my students everyday. We've used them to take online assessments, take Accelerated Reader tests, and learn to be innovators of their own education.

Our school's technology is starting to become outdated and some does not work properly, so without our help, my students would never would have had these vital resources. To ensure my students are successful now and in the future, it is extremely important to teach them how to use technology to guide their education.

Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in the United States would go without. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Miller

  • Bringing Math Lessons to Life

    Funded Nov 20, 2015

This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The scooter boards and balls helped to engage my students in a rigorous game of Human Hungry Hippo. We used these materials to review all the standards that we have covered this school year. This activity was beneficial and encouraging for all of my students. If you look at the pictures, you will see the students had a blast completing rigorous math questions.

Our school and district does not provide extra money to purchase resources to engage students in activities like Human Hungry Hippo, so you donation made this possible.

Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in the United States would go without.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Miller

  • Using Technology to Help My Students Become Leaders

    Funded Aug 27, 2015

This is just a small token of my appreciation for your donation to my classroom and school. The laptop and presenter remote that you donated to my classroom has helped my students everyday. As soon as I found out that I had been completely funded for this project, I immediately announced it to my class. They were all screaming and extremely excited. I think everyday for a week they asked when the new laptop would be in, so everyday we pulled up the tracking information to see where it was. The day it said it would be delivered, we all waited patiently for the office to buzz my classroom to say it had arrived. The students and I could barely contain our excitement.

My students use these resources everyday. We are able to complete our math lessons quickly, since we do not have to worry about the laptop freezing up and turning off in the middle of the lesson. The teacher leaders love the presenter remote, because they can be in the back of the classroom switching from one slide to the next. The laptop you purchased is not only impacting my class, but also the entire school. We create a slideshow to be used every Friday during our school wide synergy assemblies. Each synergy leader uses the presenter remote to show their peers different slides from the presentation.

Our school does not have the funding to replace our old laptops, so without you, we would not have a properly working laptop. Without a functioning laptop, we would be loosing important instruction time.

Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms would be going without.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Miller

This classroom project was brought to life by Tony and Nanar Yoseloff and 6 other donors.
My students are phenomenal leaders that strive to be the best leaders they can be. They are always eager to learn how to create presentations and do research. For example, we recently read A Long Walk to Water. The students waited until they got to the computer lab and researched Southern Sudan and the Nile River. They came back to my class the next day eager to share their findings and wanted to research even more. My school is 100% free lunch. The school is located in a high poverty/ high crime area. My babies do not have the resources at home to do research or create presentations, but they are eager to learn while they are at school. I feel it is critical to provide them with resources that will help them be successful in society.
