  • Mindfulness Certificate Course

    Funded Apr 17, 2018

Thank you so much for your donation. The class has enabled me to gain strategies to use with my students, and myself. I have begun to use the class in my own classroom and around campus. We are moving towards a mindful classroom, and I feel as if I have an advantage through this experience. The benefits of mindfulness has already impacted my teaching strategies in a positive way. I feel more patient, and at ease. This directly relates to my students, because they emulate my behavior and attitudes.”

  • Classroom Chromebook For Students with Disabilities

    Funded Feb 8, 2018

Thank you so much for your kind, and thoughtful donations. We have been using the chrome book constantly. It must be the most used piece of equipment in my classroom. The students absolutely love having it. We just finished quarter 3 finals, and students were on the chrome book every minute of the day. Having new technology enables the students to stay up to date with their peers, and prepare for the demands of the future. The students understand the value of your donation, and are extremely grateful. We have used the chrome book extensively in a Chemistry and Earth Science Class.”

  • Experience Creating Understanding-Surfboard Fins

    Funded May 8, 2017

The resources that you purchased have made a dramatic impact on my students. When the young men saw what we had delivered they were so excited. Every day they would come by to ask when we could start , or continue the project. They were so interested in the creation of the fins that I was able to have many teachable moments about science, construction, and safety. It has been a long time since I have seen students so focused for such a long duration of time. At each stage of the process they had great patience and focus on the quality of their work. I look forward to watching us complete more project, and see these traits flow into their school work. Thank you.”

  • Food For Education

    Funded Feb 28, 2017

My students are in love with the nutrition bars you provided for them. I have so many students eating junk food and not thinking about what they were doing to themselves. The students were shocked when they tried the bars because they thought they were going to be gross.

I have students constantly coming by asking for the nutrition bars. It is such an amazing accomplishment to give a student a snack that I know is healthy. Today I saw one of my students eating a bar that I did not give him. He went out and purchased a healthy snack instead of a bag of chips.

Your donation has started the students to think about what they are eating, and some of them have already changed their bad habit.”

  • Excellent Microphone for Exceptional Students

    Funded Nov 29, 2016

Thank You so much for supporting this project. The students have already had great use from the microphone. They have been making all kinds of recordings, and listening to them. The mic really makes a difference because of it's clarity and presence. My personal favorite project was one that was completed by students in the severely handicapped class for their classroom teacher for the holidays. The students recorded messages for the teacher to listen to over the recent holiday break. Because of your donation, the students were able to access technology, and get access to opportunities that few have. The students in our Severely Handicapped program are not only having fun with the project, they are improving on a multitude of skills.”

  • Enhancing Voices with Disabilities

    Funded Sep 15, 2016

    Dear Donors,

This project has bee absolutely amazing. The Students have been so excited to participate in their weekly singing activity. The Speech and Language activities that we have been able to infuse into our sessions has enabled students to show their growth on their related IEP goals. We have students that are very reluctant to participate that have been coming "out of their shell" for these activities and it has transcended to other parts of their day. I am amazed at how music can make such an inspiring impact on students, and I will continue to grow this program here at my school. One of our general education students has asked to complete their senior project using the music equipment, and complete a project working with our students with severe disabilities. You have made a direct impact on students at my school.

    Thank You”

  • Professional Recording For Students With Disibilities

    Funded May 29, 2016

Finding ways to motivate children to work on challenging tasks or skills has always been challenging for me. Music tends to be one of the top motivators for me, so using music to motivate students seemed like an easy choice. The software through donors choose has elevated the learning in my classroom. The program has unlimited instruments which allows students to make a wide variety of choices for themselves. The software has specifically impacted students with severe disabilities, however all students are interested in getting started on a project. The students love to sing, and incorporating speech and language goals into our activities has been amazing. We are so excited to see where the activities take us.”

My students are energetic and involved in school activities. They love music, and hearing themselves. My school is an over performing school with most students falling into the economic disadvantaged category. The students have a great deal of academic support. The students that would most benefit from this project are students with moderate to severe disabilities. These students do not have access to high quality recording programs, or people who understand how to use them.
