  • Duck, Duck, School

    Funded Apr 1, 2025

I can’t thank you enough for making a difference in my student’s lives. They are going to be ecstatic when they see all the materials donated for their ducklings. We can’t wait to hatch our ducks and show you the amazing experience we will have had. Thank you again for your donation. It is truly appreciated!”

  • Magnetic Learning

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you for your donation to our Donors Choose Magnetic project. With your donation, we were able to purchase new magnetic manipulatives to use on our magnet board. My students LOVE the magnetic coaster. They can't wait to get to the magnet center and build their coaster. After they built their coaster they would be eager to show their friends and teachers how their coaster worked. Your donation opened up so many social interactions with my students. Students got to tell stories using magnets, design pictures with the shapes and use science to build coasters. I appreciate your donation and thank ou fo making a difference in our classroom.”

  • Learning Though Magnets and More

    Funded Apr 27, 2024

Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. At the end of last year, my students were so eager to play with this magnetic board. We paired it with many different materials ranging from Magnatiles to magnet coasters. Students were eager to visit the magnetic board during centers and exploration time.

When our board first arrived, students were intrigued by this new thing in our classroom. They kept asking to use it. When it came center time, all the students wanted to use it. This activity opened up so many conversations with my little students. They told stories to one another, built coasters with their friends and simply made shapes and designs on the board.

I can't thank you enough for opening a new door of exploration in our classroom. We truly appreciate you and your donation.”

  • Sensory Tables Help Us Grow

    Funded Apr 7, 2024

Although the sensory tray was not available at the time my project got funded, I was able to replace it with some amazing centers that my students love. We were able to purchase Can Do It cans that allows students to look at a picture card and try and figure out how to make things work. We also were able to purchase light table letter connectors. All of these items have already been used on a daily basis in my classroom. I can't thank you enough for contributing towards our project and making a difference in our classroom!”

  • Science to Remember

    Funded Aug 16, 2023

We can not thank you enough for this most amazing donation! We currently have the eggs in the incubator. Students have learned about the life cycle of a chicken and made a little craft. We had some eggs donated by a parent and are so excited for them to grow! Each day we view the eggs! I've candled them with the kiddos and they are amazed! On day 21 we hope they hatch so we can put them inside our brooding box! This has been an amazing hands on experience that you have given to my students. We've also invited the other classes to join in on our process! Thank you for bringing science and fun to our room!”

  • Aprons and Glitter What a Match

    Funded Feb 14, 2024

Our class can't thank you enough for donating towards our aprons and glitter! We have used our aprons every day for paint activities and water activities. In our pictures students are using the aprons to keep water off of them while they explore capacity of different containers. We also love to paint on our easel and keep our clothes clean! (I'm sure our parents love it too)! The glitter was introduced during our leprechaun trap building. Students spent an hour working together as a team to build their best trap to catch the leprechauns. After students left the glitter was sprinkled around to show the magic the leprechauns left behind! You have truly made an impact on my students learning and their imagination!”

  • Playdough for Little Hands

    Funded Nov 18, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation towards our new playdough kits. My students absolutely love all of the playdough kits we received. Playdough is such an important tool in our transitional kindergarten classroom. With all the trinkets that come in the playdough kits, students are able to use their imagination to create a variety of different things. My students really enjoyed making a snowman with the snow kit. It also allows them to socially interact with one another during center time. Your donation has made a difference in our classroom. Thank you again!”

  • Music To Our Ears

    Funded Nov 3, 2023

I can not thank you enough for making your donation towards our music project. My students have taken a new love to music. We discovered on YouTube a wonderful group of women that made preschool friendly rhythm stick videos. My students beg to get the rhythm sticks out and watch these videos. When I do play one, they always ask if we can do "just one more." They absolutely love the rhythm sticks. We also are learning the boom whackers that you donated to our classroom too. These are a little bit more difficult but I am impressed with how many students are grasping the difficulty level. Thank you again for making your donation and bringing music to our classroom!”

  • Math Hands-On

    Funded Aug 10, 2023

Thank you for your donation towards our classroom. With your donation we were able to receive our hands on math center items. My students get so excited when it is center time because it's an opportunity for them to learn through play. Your donation bought one of my students favorite math games, number locks. They work really hard to get the stuffed animal out of the cage. Students have to find the number key that matches the number lock to open the lock. The other item purchased was our number cookie jar. Students love the talking cookie jar that asks them to find numbers. Finally, construction paper always makes a difference in our room. We use it everyday. Thank you for making a difference in our TK classroom.”

  • Books for Young Minds

    Funded Apr 3, 2023

Thank you so much for helping our classroom library grow. We received so many amazing books to use during circle time and center time. The students were so excited to read books like The Hungry Caterpillar, Looks Like Milk, and many more. We used a lot of these with felt hands we already had and it made reading so much fun. We can't thank you enough for adding to our students' education and making a difference in a transitional kindergarten classroom. These books will be used year after year and will reach hundreds of students. Thank you!”

My students are 7 and 8 year old students that are amazing! We are a Title I school with many students that don't have the ability to purchase books. We have a high rate of free and reduced-price lunch students. Although some students come from poverty, they still are engaged and wanting to learn. This group of third graders are building a passion for reading. They can't wait until the next Daily 5 time when they get to sit down and read. I am often asked, "Do you have any other books?" I am saddened when I have to answer no to this question. In our classroom we also have three bean bag chairs for students to sit in. I would love to have more soft areas for students to sit and be comfortable. With more seat cushions, students will get more opportunities to sit somewhere fun to read!
