Microscopic Adventures in Kindergarten
Funded Nov 28, 2023Thank you so much for your heartfelt donation to our Kindergarten innovators. Our Kindergarteners have had so much fun using the microscopes in the classroom. Our Kindergarteners are truly curious and adventurous little humans and when they saw the microscopes their smiles and joy said it all.
They have truly loved the opportunity to engage in some magical learning experiences through the use of microscopes. Students anxiously await their turn to use the microscopes each week and love being able to look at all of the tiny things!
Thank you again for your contributions and for opening the doors to the magical world of microscopic adventures in Kindergarten!”

Funded Jul 3, 2021My students were thrilled when they saw the violins! We recently began our music classes and the students were beyond delighted to hold a violin for the first time and to learn how to hold the bow as well. We are slowly but surely working up to playing our first song together and one day in the near future having a virtual concert for our peers. Students have expressed how thankful they are to have the opportunity to learn an instrument and their parents are equally grateful as well. Thank you so much for providing this opportunity to my students. Your contribution will change their lives, not just because you are giving them the gift of music, but you are giving them the gift of a lifetime.”

Funded May 31, 2020Thank you so much for your contribution to my 1st graders who were transitioning into the 2nd grade. These students have used the workbooks provided by you all in order to help them be better prepared for the 2nd grade. These students are thriving in 2nd grade and even though learning is looking different due to distance learning, because of your generosity, my students have moved on to the 2nd grade more confident and ready to take on a new grade level and new learning experiences. Thank you so much once again!”

Meeting the Needs of ALL Students Through Writing!
Funded Oct 29, 2019Thank you so much for believing in our classroom and our project! The students are really enjoying the resources that you provided with your donations. One of my students loves the alphabet tracing pad so much that he took it with him to take a nap because he just couldn't let it go. As you can see, in one of the pictures, this student has also shown such dramatic improvement in his name writing because of the resources provided by all of you!
These students were so surprised when they saw the new resources! They were eager and ready to explore them. My students were also very willing to share these resources with another student that was struggling to write her name. She joined us in our class and practiced how to write letters. She was so excited that she asked to come back.
These resources not only helped students across the first grade classrooms, they also helped some of the SPED students in our school. SPED teachers came in to borrow our materials and they used them in their sessions. They were so impressed with these materials, that they ordered some for them to use as well. Thank you so much for making such a huge impact, not only in my classroom, but all across our school.”

Problem Solving Through Bibliotherapy
Funded Sep 5, 2018Thank you so much for making our bibliotherapy library a reality. The pictures posted are of the effects that our bibliotherapy library had on our class. Students decided that they wanted to advertise our school pajama drive to help children who need it the most and they gave up their creative play time to do so. Students also showed love to some of our kinder friends who were having trouble peeling oranges because they learned in a rainbow of friends that we all have things that we are good at and we can use those things to help others because those things are what make us different and special. Some of the most special moments that I was blessed enough to experience were some that could not be photographed. Children who miss their families living together because they are going through a divorce situation begin to understand that even though their parents are in two separate homes, they love them just as much. Children who are only allowed to see their siblings at school due to custody issues begin to understand that their feelings of anger and sadness are totally valid, but they learn that they can also do things to help themselves feel better, after reading books such as When I Feel Angry or When I Feel Sad. Students learned that you can stand up for yourself using your words instead of fists. I could go on and on about the amazing things our bibliotherapy library has helped us accomplish, but I will stop here. Thank you for making this a reality for my students and for other classrooms on our campus who have borrowed our books.”

Funded Dec 15, 2015We have been using the carpet mats for yoga. The children have really enjoyed learning all of the new yoga poses and they are thrilled to have a space of their own where they can practice their yoga poses. I had a child come up to me after physical education class and say "I am so happy that I don't get dirty anymore Ms. De Luna, I really love these carpet mats and the people who got them for us!" It is great to see how much of a difference it has made for students. The students really understand which space is theirs and they treat the carpet mats with so much love because they know that many donors went out of their way to donate money in order for them to be able to have these mats. Students are also using the mats when they start physical education class in order to do their warm up exercises as well as when they are participating in small group activities. The colored mats really help them identify what group they are in and who they should be working with.
The students were overjoyed when they saw the carpet mats. When I told them what they were for, they were even more excited. I explained to them where the carpet mats came from and they were very happy to know that other people cared enough about them to give our school money to buy these materials. They asked if they could ever meet the people that gave our school the money so that they could say thank you to them. The students cheered, clapped and had genuine surprised looks on their faces. It was amazing to witness it.
The next steps in physical education class are for students to continue using the mats as they continue to do yoga and as they begin learning about Sumba, crucified, and aerobics. Students are enjoying learning the various animal poses in yoga and they are having a wonderful time using the carpet mats in order to learn. There is no doubt in my mind that they will be just as excited for what is to come in physical education class and they will continue to be just as excited to use the carpet mats that "the nice people gave us money for."”
