  • Books and Supplies to Start the New Year!

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom this year. The basic supplies, like folders were so helpful to kick start our year and organize materials to go from school to home. These folders have been an essential part of our weekly routine and to help with communication to families.

The new 3D blocks have been a huge hit with my students this year. The students are able to play with them during our morning. soft starts and the creativity and imagination I see them having while playing with them has been amazing to see. The students are also collaborating and working on their social skills during this time, and without toys like these, this time would not be as meaningful for them.

Thank you so much for continuing to support our classroom. It makes a world of a difference to have access to materials that support our learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Maarefi

  • New Year, New Classroom, New Materials!

    Funded May 9, 2023

Our school year has gotten off to a great start! By having the supplies we need to function in a classroom, learning about how to be a student in first grade has been a lot easier for my students.

With the supplies I was able to purchase because of your generous donation, my students are able to organize their materials in a way that allows for more productive learning. They are also able to take home their work in a safe place to show family members what they are learning in school.

In the classroom, I am also able to organize our learning materials in such a way that makes it accessible to my students throughout the day. This has been so helpful and beneficial to all of my kids.

Thank you again for helping our school year get off to a great start. It would not have been possible without your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Maarefi

  • Building, Creating, Collaborating, Playing: Materials to Start Our Day

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom and supporting my idea to start our day with social time for my students. Your generous donation allowed me to get games, building materials, craft supplies, and STEM things to use every morning in our classroom.

My 1st graders are giddy with excitement when I pull out a new morning choice and they can't wait to start their day with some time to collaborate, build, and play with their peers.

This morning routine is calming for all my students, starts our day on a positive note, and has helped us create a community of learners that we can all work together with. This donation has been used every single morning, and my students know that is all because of you. I can't thank you enough for supporting my 25 first graders this year, and many students in the years to come.”

  • Supplies, Supplies, We Need More Supplies!

    Funded May 4, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! This donation gave each of my students supplies to start the school year off. It gave us new books to read together, and gave us some important classroom items that we use daily.

Without your generous donation my classroom would not be equipped with the supplies needed to engage my students in learning every day. I appreciate you supporting our classroom and supporting my students.

My students this year are kind, loving, responsible, and very excited learners. I know they appreciate the supplies the supplies as much as I do. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Maarefi

  • Basic Supplies for Successful Learners

    Funded Aug 6, 2021

Thank you so much for helping fill my classroom with basic supplies for my students this year! Students were able to come to school on the first day with a tub on their desk filled with supplies just for them! It eased the stress of back to school for the families and not having to worrying about school supply shopping.

Students have used these supplies everyday creating, writing, doing math, working on reading and more! It is my first graders "first real" school year after the pandemic, and they are learning so much everyday and come to school with big smiles and ready to learn.

I can't thank you enough for supporting our classroom and brightening my students days with these supplies!”

  • Picture Books to Enjoy Together

    Funded May 5, 2021

Thank you so much for the wonderful picture books to add to our classroom library. My students online last year were thrilled to get to read so many new books, and I know my students this year will also enjoy all of them. Read aloud time is my favorite part of our day and it is so nice to be able to go to our classroom library and pick a book from our diverse collection.

I am thrilled to be able to welcome my students back to in person learning this year, and I can not wait to connect with them on our reading carpet to learn about each other, be engaged in a fun story, and to share our experiences.

Thank you again for this wonderful gift of reading!”

    With gratitude,

  • Diverse Books for Diverse Kids

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

I can't thank you enough for allowing me to bring in so many diverse read alouds to my classroom this year for students to enjoy! Even though we have been learning online all year, these books have brought so much joy and great conversations in our google meets. It is also the best time of day when I can read a story to my students and we can connect through the characters.

These diverse books have been so helpful in guiding conversations about diverse topics that can sometimes be challenging to make kid friendly. These books were perfect for starting those conversations.

We have loved every book we have read so far!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Maarefi

  • Think, Create, and Collaborate With Hands-on STEM Games!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

My students are loving these hands on stem games so far! They look forward to the mornings where they get to get them out and ease into our day with 15 minutes of STEM game time. It is promoting collaboration within my classroom, allowing me to see my students creativity outside of standard based lessons, and allowing my students to get time to just be kids and play! These games have been treated with so much responsibility because my students know they were given to us by very generous donors like you. We can't thank you enough for donating towards our classroom and giving my students this opportunity to have more STEM type games and activities in their life and to help promote STEM related careers for their future.”

  • Rock, Move, Bounce, Sit...Flexible Seating to Increase Learning

    Funded Oct 2, 2017

My students and I are loving all these flexible seating options we have in our classroom now. I see students being able to move around while working, and it has really impacted them being able to stay focused and work hard. When students come into my room they are excited about all the seating options available and can't wait to see which option suits them best.

When we first got our materials the opening of them was very exciting to all of my students. They could not wait to try out the three different options of seats to see which they liked best. My students are constantly switching seats to give each other opportunities to use them, and they love being able to rock around while learning without disturbing their peers or me.

We can not thank you enough for your generous donations to help our classroom become a learning environment that is comfortable for all and that allows my students to move around, rock, and bounce while learning. I have seen a huge change in focus this year with my students being able to freely move their bodies, and I know they all LOVE having these options.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Maarefi

  • Keyboards In The 5th Grade Classroom!

    Funded Aug 27, 2015

Thank you all so much for donating towards my classroom, and allowing us to get our hands on these keyboards! These keyboards have been an amazing piece of technology to use in our classroom alongside our iPads. The students are learning the life skill of keyboarding with them, typing up narrative stories, explanatory essays, and using them everyday in reading to respond to questions. These keyboards are an essential part of our classroom and we use them every day! Students love having quick access to them and having the option to be able to use them rather than hunting and pecking on their iPad screen. I have students who struggle to hand write because of special needs, and these keyboards have allowed them to access the same curriculum and keep up with their peers because they can type rather than hand write. Not only are they able to express their thoughts and opinions more clearly, but they are learning the very important skill of typing as well! These keyboards have been a huge success in our classroom, and I am excited to continue to use them for many more years and give even more of the students at our school this opportunity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Maarefi

My school is a diverse school with students from all backgrounds. Many of our students don't have technology at home to use so this year we are lucky enough to become a 1:1 iPad school. We are going to be enriching our students learning through technology and finding ways to meaningfully incorporate it into lessons. My 5th graders amaze me each day with their ability to connect to each other and teach me things! They have opened my eyes to what is important in life. One important skill that I teach throughout the year is community and collaboration. My students need to collaborate together for different subjects and to problem solve together. This is not just an important skill in my classroom, but one that all teachers take seriously. Our school has an environment that welcomes diversity and encourages students to think differently.
