  • Eid Mubarak! We Will Celebrate With a March Treasure Hunt

    We so appreciate you supporting our Eid Treasure Hunt. It will go a long way to making our Muslim student population feel represented and celebrated in a way our school has not done previously. Fringe benefit: it will provide students with some useful items they wouldn't be able to afford otherwise.

  • Afrofuturist Dystopian Magical Realism

    The students love the book! Previously disengaged second-semester Senioritus-infected students are happily reading, talking, and questioning. Even students who claim to "hate reading" have been keeping up because the plot has hooked them. Some are even audibly gasping when certain elements of the story are revealed.

    If this isn't proof that sci-fi and fantasy belong in the ELA classroom, I don't know what is.
