I has students that come from all backgrounds and academic levels. This creates new difficulties balancing academics and social network as a middle school student. When many of the students don't have extra money for school supplies, it can create an embarrassing moment. I have found building relationships with all my students creates confidence when they walk into my classroom. This confidence could come from simply having a notebook or not having to worry about getting supplies. Our goal at Morey is to create a level playing field for all our students. We provide after-school tutoring and a "Homework Zone" to help students keep up with their school work. A student's education should not be taken away because of forgotten materials or lack of access to out of school resources. These materials will also help build relationships with our students and help improve the culture of the school.
