The diverse student population in my class represent underserved communities who live in high poverty areas. This includes minorities, women, and students with special needs. Unfortunately, many of my students cannot afford to purchase the materials for a geometry class making it difficult to achieve our goal. Our goal is to have all students learn how to apply engineering principles to solve problems. My academy collaborates with industry partners to expose students to various engineering fields in the hopes that the students eventually continue on into these careers.
