This classroom project was brought to life by H&M and one other donor.Letters Alive
Funded Aug 25, 2016Letters Alive has made a huge impact on my classroom this year. The 3D animals and letters have brought learning alive for my students. Not only did it help with letter and sound recognition but we also learned to build and write sentences, we learned about animals that we may not have studied before and we learned to communicate with each other. Thank you so much for making it possible to purchase letters alive. My classroom students that know 100% letters and sounds this year is up from 65% to 85%.”

Funded Sep 16, 2015The first day the students walked into the classroom and saw the new daily math calendar they were elated!! They love doing calendar math now. It has greatly improved their counting skills, number recognition, ones, tens, and hundreds place value, and awareness of the seasons, patterns, and estimation counting.
The personal word building lap boards have been a god send to my classroom. Last year I invested in the class whole group size word building pocket chart. With the students having their own word building lap boards it has helped them so much. Word building is such an important step in learning to read. The smile on the students face when you call out a word and they can build it all by themselves is priceless. "I can read" they get so excited when they realize that. I have seen an improvement in reading groups and as a whole since we have incorporated the word building boards.
Thank you all from Mrs. Moats and all her students for making our kindergarten year a great learning experience!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Moats
