  • Welcoming Library

    Funded Sep 26, 2023

Thank you for helping our library become a welcoming space. The students are overjoyed to come to library this year and generous donations will only increase that. I am most excited to show them the new seating options! You have not only impacted these students but many more in the years to come.”

    With gratitude,

  • Our Library

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

Thank you for making Alaska students a priority. Your kind and generous donation will be noticed and appropriated by many. The students will light up when they get to walk into the library! We are so very excited to give the space a refresh after not having a librarian for 7 years.”

  • Get Your Wiggles Out!

    Funded Mar 15, 2019

Thank you for coming together to fund this project, my students are going to be very excited to have flexible seating in the classroom. Looking forward to the wonderful changes this will result in for my most wiggly students. Your generosity will impact the classroom for many years to come.”

  • Critical Thinking Through Coding

    Funded Apr 30, 2018

Thank you for allowing students the opportunity to learn through robotics. The students have enjoyed a great many activities with these interesting little creatures. The best of the Botley robots is that it allows for even the pre-K students to get early exposure to robotics, critical thinking, teamwork and play. The challenge activity pack that came with each robot is perfect for giving students to have built-in activities and lessons that are quick and easy to plan. Many classes in the school from pre-K to fifth are taking advantage of the opportunity to use them in the classroom.”

  • Technology for Blended Learning

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Having computers in the classroom for blended learning has made a world of difference and has allowed for differentiated instruction to take place on a whole new level. Now I am able to create small group learning stations and as I am working with one group other students are able to log in and complete assignments that are based on their learning needs. The students have very much enjoyed the added benefit of having the Chromebooks. Their favorite part is getting to use Google Docs to complete writing assignments along with the Google Read Write app so that they can use text to speech for those difficult to spell words. Your donation has made and will continue to make a big impact.”

  • Calm Classroom Environment Tools

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for contributing to social-emotional learning in our classroom. These tools purchased by you went a long way to helping students self-calm when they became escalated. Students knew the expectations for using the calming corner as well as the proper way to use each tool purchased. They would use the calming corner for a set amount of time, often varied by the student and then return to class work. Often times students come to school not in a learning state of mind and need time to adjust the climate, work becomes too hard and they need a break or many other possible triggers. Your donation continues to help students calm down in a safe and timely manner, thank you from my students and me.”

  • Organization for Technology

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for making such a large donation, it significantly impacted the students in my room and many others in the building. With the use of a rolling cart, we are now able to share the wealth of technology we have in our room with others in the building with ease. The students are thrilled and deeply touched that a stranger cares enough about their education to contribute to them in such an impactful way. By having a secure place to store and charge Chromebooks, it allowed us to get rid of a safety hazard by having cords all over the room in every outlet. Not to mention the time it saved as the Chromebooks go in and out of the cart so nicely.”

  • Standing Desk to Make the Wiggles Go Away

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Again thank you for the donation. We received the desk last week and all the students in the classroom have been loving it, in fact it is such a hot item that we had to make a schedule of who was using when. The desk is perfect as it adjusts depending the age of students you are working with and the sway bar is by far the best as it gives them an option to release energy if needed. I have several students who very much struggle with completing work while sitting down and this desk has been amazing for them. I have seen work completion increase and behaviors decrease when they are using it. It has inspired me to post more projects in hopes that I can get one for every student.”

  • S.T.E.A.M for Struggling Learners

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

First off I would just like to thank you for your wonderful contribution you have made towards the education of our future. I once heard a seminar where the speaker informed us that we are not educating students for jobs today, but jobs that have yet to be created. This really stuck with me as the world is becoming so advanced in education. Students today are growing up in a very fast changing world, there are many jobs now for computer science, coding and robotics that did not exist when I was in school. The more students learn about this technology now, the better chance we have of finding their passion that will move them into a career that they enjoy. The students have very much enjoyed the hands on learning opportunities that you have given them. With the cubelets they where able to not only create the robots that came in the book but new ones from their ideas. They created robots with the knowledge of the different functions of each cube to complete a task or a need that they had. Such as one that sounded to motion when someone moved or came into the room. This was done by a second grader, WOW they never cease to amaze me! I have students that fell in love with Dash and Dot, creating lines of code that taught the robots to play a game of Marco Polo with them. The computers of course played a very big role in it all, without the use of a mobile device that could be moved around the room the students would not be able to write lines of codes for these wonderful item with such ease. Thank you so much for contribution.”

  • Technology to Support Differentiated Instruction

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

Having computers in the classroom for the last quarter of the school year has been amazing. The students now walk into the classroom asking if we get to do Google Classroom today, they absolutely love them. The students have greatly increased their typing skills and have learned how to use some new programs to increase reading fluency and letter writing. The touch screen allows them to fold the computers and use it as paper, thus saving trees and money for the school! They have styluses that allow them to be able to use the computers but not as the expense of their handwriting skills. Thank you so much for the wonderful contribution you have made to help the students grow in new ways.”

In our classroom, we all work as a team at a much slower pace using a core replacement program. My students are wonderful and are starting to fall in love with learning. Many of them, although they are in 3th grade, are still working on first grade passages with low fluency. Our special education classroom is part of a Title I school, and 100% of the students who attend receive free or reduced price lunches. Many of the students lack social skills or the ability to handle different situations in a calm manner, so throughout our day, we focus on team and relationship building.
