Learning Materials
Funded Feb 29, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for donating to my classroom project. My students loved getting the new boxes and seeing all of our learning activities and games. They were so excited to hear about how our friends helped us get our new things. They get so excited when we get new things in the mail and they get to open them and use them.
We use these items every day and the kids are very interactive and more attentive to the new activities. We are using our lady bug letters a lot for reading and we are using our peg numbers a lot to learn counting. These items have been so beneficial to our classroom and we cannot thank you enough!
These items have significantly helped my students reach their goals in math and reading. They have fun while they are learning and it makes it so much easier for them. We can't express our gratitude for your help.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Lang
Special Education Materials
Funded Aug 22, 2015I can not tell you how much we appreciate your donation to our classroom. My students use the items we received daily and they love them so much! They loved getting the packages and it was like Christmas morning when they all arrived. The students really enjoyed getting to open them and show everyone all of the things inside. They wanted to use all of the new things right away.
We put our new carpet in the center of the room and we use it for things like play time, nap time, and therapy activities. My students love to roll around on it during therapy time instead of on the cold floor! The weighted blanket has really been useful. When our friends are having a bad day (or for nap time) they will curl up under the blanket until they feel better. The alphabet stamps and the pencil grips have really been a favorite with us and with the general education teachers that our students visit. It has really helped with their writing skills and we are seeing so much improvement already! Their fine motor skills have improved with the scissor scoops, special scissor set, and the squeeze ball. We are using these items to make a lot of progress in many different areas.
Now that we are settled with these items, we are starting to think of some new activities and projects for our classroom. Right now, our goal is to have more therapy items in our room so that we can practice therapy techniques daily instead of weekly. We are working with our many different therapists to figure out a way to keep a structured learning environment while also incorporating a functioning therapy environment. Along with that, we are also planning a special field trip to the zoo for our severe students. We are so excited for all the plans we have to spring into action but until then we will continue to use what we have (with much thanks to you)!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Lang
