Classroom Printer
Funded Dec 24, 2015Thank you again for you generous donations and words of encouragements! It has been a few months since we have received our classroom printer, and let me tell you all about the changes I have seen in my students. We use the printer to print out differentiated work, which allows our struggling learners to get review or easier leveled work, and our excelling students to be challenged. This differentiation has allowed my students to master the subject at their speed and their level, which if you can imagine gives them the self-esteem to want to keep learning. This printer was also not just for our use we got it so our students could use it as well. We started allowing our students to type their writing assignments and then use the printer to print out their writing. Our students love getting the chance to use the computer and their faces light up when they see their finished piece come out of the printer. We also allow our students to use the computers during centers, and they have a computer program that gives them an award when they have mastered that lesson. They love printing out the award and bring it home to their parents.
We can't possible say thank you enough for your donation but we can try! Gracias, Merci, Grazie, Arigato, Danke sehr, do jeh, daw-dyeh, Khop Khun Mak Kha, Thank You!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Riddle

Funded Oct 13, 2015Thank you again for you generous donations and words of encouragements! It has been a few months since we have received our sight word books and our scholastic news magazines, and let me tell you all about the changes I have seen in my students. The sight word books have become an exciting activity for my students to do during guided reading. We are introducing the new words during guided reading and then letting them do the actives during word work the next day. This has allowed a lot of my students to master a lot of their first grade sight words. This skill has given much needed self-esteem to my students in reading. We've seen a big growth in their reading levels and in their enjoyment in reading.
I hope you can imagine how it feels as an educator when your students want to pick up a book and read. I hope you can also imagine the pride that we have for our students in how much they have grown over the past months. I also hope you feel a sense of pride, because without your donation none of this could have been possible.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Riddle
