A Place to Station One’s Work!
Funded Aug 12, 2023I wanted to give a huge Thank you for contributing to my Donors Choose project, A Place to Station One's Work. My classroom received a Lakeshore Classic Birch Space-Saver Storage Tray Center and 12 storage trays to use during my differentiated center rotations. I typically have around 20 students in my classroom and each are very unique individuals. I really try to teach based on each personal abilities and skills needed. At the beginning, it was difficult to separate literacy and math rotation work for each student. Upon receiving, the storage Tray Center and 12 drawers, it has made our classroom organization so much easier. Each group knows the location and color of their group drawer. The students now know where their classroom rotation work is located that is based off their specific skill needed to be worked on.
I feel like this has made our classroom more self sufficient and I am truly grateful for receiving this donation.”

Funded Nov 5, 2022Thank you for making this project possible for my Kindergarten class. As previously written in my project, we had the privilege of moving into a brand new school building this year. This was much needed and we are so blessed to have a brand new classroom and now a brand new library area rug and seating to add to the classroom. The children are now drawn to the library area due to the seating and are frequently found lounging and reading to each other in that area of the classroom. We also got a light table. I have been wanting to implement a light table in my classroom for a very long time and I am beyond happy that with your help I had a chance to do so. This area is a huge success and with the manipulatives that was also purchased, my students are having so much FUN learning so many literacy and math skills!
Again, thank you for your kindness.”

Funded Feb 8, 2022Thank you for your contribution to my project " Teaching the Whole Child". My class received a new kitchen play set, multi-cultural doll set, and social and emotional mirrors. My classroom typically has 20+ students from many different backgrounds.
Teaching through the years, I have noticed a huge need for early social and emotional development. Upon receiving the mirror set, I have been able to use them in my " calm down area" and have had many conversations about feelings and strategies that can be used. I have used these more than I had even thought I would. The mirrors allow the students to have a picture of an emotion to connect to the way they are feeling. Happy, sad, scared, anxious, etc.
The multi-cultural doll set has been a favorite since I introduced it to my class. "She looks like me", "My friend has that chair", or " He looks like my dad" are only a few statements that I have overheard using this play set.
The kitchen set! When my students saw this kitchen you would have thought they hit the jack pot! They have been so careful not to let it lose it's shine. It has definitely been the favorite item in our classroom. I frequently hear fancy tea parties, family dinners, or bake sales happening in that area. These special conversations and experiences are what drives me to continue in education. I am beyond grateful for the impact that these items have been on my students in my classroom. Many would not be able to have such experiences without your blessings. We are truly thankful♥️”
